If the Bulls retooled a bit in the off-season and shopped Vucevic, what would be the best offer they would get?

Not sure they would get any good offers tbh. He isnt good in defense, and on offense he is always sold as a floorstretcher but shoots pretty bad. I could see a team like celtics take a shot if they think horford is done or wants to retire

He's more backup quality - unless his shooting very well for a stretch his defense if poor enough to bring his value down.
Maybe someone gives a 2nd and a junk EC of similar size, or perhaps some other flawed veteran at a different position.

I think Nurkic and the #37 (I think Char has 2 seconds this draft, both of which should be in the 30's)
Bulls save a bit of $, free up minutes for Smith/Collins, get an expiring in Nurkic who can play if needed and a high 2nd
Char gets a VERY good backup to Williams who can easily start when Williams is out. Char needs to start winning next year

I thought a pick in the early 30s was enough for Vuc, but this thread had some push-back (and agreement) on that.
Seems like a good ballpark, but this forum loves to argue about if 1 or 2 2nds 3 years from now is more accurately reflective of value.

I like your idea, but do you think Charlotte is going to try to win this year? The latest moves seem to indicate they're in asset-gathering mode... As for Vuc, I'd like to see him on a contender. I wonder if there's a trade where Vuc/Lonzo go to the Warriors for Kuminga ST?

Would do Vuc/Ball for Kuminga and add the Port 1st-if Kuminga fits long term in Chi
I do think Char will start trying to win next year-they've been bad for a while, and have a lot of young talent

Could that be great for the Warriors? Send VUC+FRP+(something) to the Nets for Cam Johnson? And you get Lonzo.

With Post doing most of what we would want from Vuc at 10% of the cost, I don’t think we’d be interested in Vuc anymore. The version where we end up with Lonzo + Cam Johnson is pretty interesting though.

Whatever the Bulls can get back for Vucevic starts with the $20M part of the trade not the 29.5 draft pick. Any longer contracts no matter who they're attached to don't help the Bulls. It's not like Vuc is some troublemaker who they have to get rid of, he's 34, not part of the future so they might as well move on from him and with an expiring contract that shouldn't be them taking two steps back to move on. If he was that much of a problem the Bulls might as well buy him out rather than take on $20M of bad contracts and useless players.
The playoffs will determine who is interested. Some team is going to lose a round sooner than they thought, feel that they lacked the scoring that Vuc can provide and take the one year gamble to get him. Most likely to happen is the Bulls get in the middle of some of the super max contracts being traded, Vuc's $20M help swing that, the Bulls get back a player with a similar contract and a pick to help move the big money guys.

Hornets gotta say yes, no take backs. For any of his warts, Vuc is a much better player. A second and tiny salary difference doesn't cover that.

This. Vuc is making $20m this year, Post is making $438,920. Post is nowhere near the rebounder Vuc is, but his shooting is at least as good. Quite a steal, getting that guy with the 52nd pick.

Expiring salary and a fake draft pick would be a stupendous return. When his shot isn't falling at magical Christmasland rates he's getting outplayed by cast offs from the Pacers and Spurs.

This seems like the deal so far

Sixers could have interest in a Paul George trade. Vucevic, Patrick Williams, plus filler for PG + sweetner

I don't see anybody giving up any real assets for him. A liability on defense and when his shots are not falling, he's not the most useful out there outside of rebounding. I think Bulls blew the best chance they of getting value for Nikola Vucecic by not moving on the deadline. He's likely a Bull until that contract expires after next season.

The Hornets were willing to trade their young starting center for a pick in 6 years and were open to accepting bad contracts (Nurkic). If I had to guess, I'd say they're not going to push to win... although if they did try, I'd like them to go for Ayton (he should look good alongside Melo). Nurkic+Okogie+34 for Ayton/Murray?...
Send Vuc to the Magic for Isaak+Jett+SRP or to the Spurs White/Vuc for Vassell?
