PACERS
In: Gobert
Out: Toppin/Turner (ST)

gets the best player..Indiana has the playmakers to make Rudy shine, Siakam's improvement as a shooter and the fact that Rick has already turned the Mavs' offense into one of the best offenses in history with Powell, dispel any doubts about the adjustment on offense...the defense rises to elite levels

WOLVES
In:Turner(ST)
Out:Gobert

Get the best fit...younger . Given Conley's aging, they lack a starting-level playmaker. Get a better fit who can spread the floor for Ant.also great fit for Randle

Toppin a 3 team..(Pistons/KINGS)...For more flexibility in Indian, it would be a great signing for either team, without paying assets.

Can Minn do a S&T with their salary structure?

If Naz Reid agrees to opt in and extend, they should be below the 1s Apron, and capable of pulling it off.

The only reason the Pacers would trade Toppin would be to make room to re-sign Turner. Gobert is not a fit here at all as he has no outside game.

You know, I think it’s pretty funny that the last two times that a player has been ejected against Indy for hard/flagrant fouls, they e been pitched on this forum in trades to Indy the next day. Last time, Isaiah Stewart, and this time now Rudy Gobert. Just coincidental,PF and funny, is all.

Realistically, this puts Indy into the tax, which I highly doubt they’d do. And, again, a pretty huge stylistic shift in terms of play. I really don’t think that a Siakam/Gobert pairing is going to work super well, and again would push Siakam into working primarily on the perimeter in order to accommodate Gobert and his limited offensive flexibility. It could mostly work, but would be limiting in his potential, for sure.

For Myles to fit to Minnesota, he’d have to sign for around $30m or less (so Minnesota could fill out the last couple roster spots and stay under the first apron). At that point, I think Indy would just prefer Myles in terms of style, history, and locker room fit? Gobert is the better overall player, but in terms of style and fit, I just don’t think there really is one?

This doesn't make sense for any party involved.

An S+T limits the Wolves flexibility.

Gobert just decked one of our best players. I think teams DO care about these things.

Plus, Indy is really only considering moving on from Myles because the cost might be too high. Here, Indy moves on from Myles to lock in a higher price than “too high”. Like, Rudy is going to be almost $10m more than Myles would be on a new $30m average deal.

And, as one of the biggest Toppin critics, he is definitely playing above the MLE level contract he is on.

If Gobert is more than 7 feet from the basket he's useless on Offense. He's a great defender but he's about 4 yrs older than Turner and will Cost $35 million I'm betting Turner can be signed for less than that. Plus Turner is a better shot blocker and can really shoot the 3 for a 7 footer.

I think if Obi Toppin gets the Minutes he's worth his money for sure.

Gobert is actually one of the best screeners in the NBA.

I'll predict that Turner will resign with Indiana or a front loaded contract $33 million $31.5 million, $30 million and $28 million with a player option y5 for $28 million. Approx 5 yrs $150 miilion.

Yes he's a great defender and as you said "Screener" but can't shoot a lick.

I'm guessing 4/140

Am I weird for preferring Turner and his shooting ability compared to Gobert who is excellent but more one dimensional?

I understand the advantage of having a center who can space the floor...but seeing how some elite playmakers (Harden/Trae/Luka) benefit from the vertical spacing of PnR specialist centers...don't you think Hali could take advantage of a guy like that?

Haliburton can, but Haliburton is also not just a typical Spam P&R 20 times per game like Harden/Trae/Luka.

The other aspect here is Siakam at the 4 next to a floor spacing Center opens up the game for Siakam. Siakam is a slasher and loves to work within the 3P line, utilizing his floor/dribble game to get to his spots and finish through contact or over players.

If we are swapping Siakam for KD in this hypothetical, then maybe Gobert makes some sense.

All I’ll bet is it won’t be front loaded, as that greatly exacerbates Indy’s salary/tax “crunch”.
