The Suns get a lot of young pieces and some vets to retool around Booker.

Not giving up 3 young players for an aging KD.

The value in the first trade is way too good for Boston, not a great fit for Brooklyn & probably a non-starter for Miami.

Boston is not going to save massive amounts of near and long term money plus get value for Jrue.

Miami should & will likely prioritize maintaining '26 cap space as the arguably top FA destination should.

Brooklyn already has 5 picks in '25. Adding the the 28th pick in '25 doesn't have appeal, especially at the expense of utilizing your '25 cap space monopoly on Rozier. They should be able to get a better asset from a team desperate to duck the 2nd apron or luxury tax.

Could Miami even put a team on the floor after this? You have us trading 8 players for 2 in exchange for players on the wrong side of 34. I'm not touching this.

I'm not convinced if the Heat should even be giving up assets for a older star at this point. They are struggled massively since the trade deadline. Does Kevin Durant really make them a contender? I don't believe so. Also, the Heat are overpaying for a aging Jrue Holiday, which again isn't enough for them to be as good as the Cavaliers, Celtics or Thunder or even the lesser contenders like the Knicks, Nuggets or current version of the Warriors. There's other flaws separate from the Heat trades as well. Overall this whole trade feels DOA.

Other than altruism, why are the Suns doing this? This is way too light for KD.

I'm not 100% convinced the Suns are getting a massive package for KD. The teams that KD will want to go to will be a major deciding factor what the Suns can get back in a deal. If KD says he's ether going to the Timberwolves or staying, the package will worse than the OP package. At that we are talking the Pistons pick this year + Julius Randle + Rob Dillingham+ filler. The hope for the Suns should be that KD gives the Suns a good list of teams that he want go to and some of those teams are asset heavy teams like the Thunder, Rockets, Magic,etc.

There’s no chance Boston takes on trash contracts either so there’s that.

Boston basically swaps a pick in a great draft for a high variance future pick. It’s not a huge value difference.
The players they get back don’t have trade value. They do save money in this scenario, so it might be something the Celtics consider. I think “way too good” is an exaggeration. I get the sentiment of the rest of your points though.

I think this is an overpayment for Claxton... Knecht or FRP 31... not both... I love Claxton and he fits perfectly alongside Luka and JJ's defense... but he's making 25 million and is a terrible shooter, especially from the free throw line.

It's obviously outside of realistic moves but there's a sensible move between Boston and Phoenix.

Boston sends out Porzingis/Holiday/Hauser (~73M) plus whatever assets and takes back Durant ($54M)
Phoenix sends out Durant/Grayson Allen/other $ as needed and takes back KP/JH/Hauser
Team three takes on salary in the form of Grayson Allen and whatever else from PHX

Phoenix has a nice short term fit of Holiday/Booker/Hauser/Oneal/KP
Boston trims money but goes for it in the short term White/Brown/Tatum/Durant/Committee

Kind of fantastical but makes me think that rather than less movement there may be a ton of movement as more teams have a need to make deals.
