How far off is…

Zion/CJ for LaVine/DDR + Spurs 27 + Minny 31

Sac goes for talent and hopes for health.

Monk/Ellis/Keegan/Zion/Sabonis

The Pels move off Zion and get out of CJ and bring in the scoring to match their defensive forwards. They get picks to help the retool.

who is coming off the bench between jones/lavine/DDR/Murphy? i dont think any team want both lavine and DDR together. might need to involve a 3rd team to reroute one of the SG's

They all start till Murray is back and then adjust.

Someone really needs to get in DDRs ear about getting into the HoF and his best option to boast his borderline case at this point is to win a sixth man award.

I really agree a third team is needed for DDR. Shouldn’t be a deal breaker for Sac.

I think NOP is owed another first. Whether that’s Sac’s 2025 or 2026 depending on the next couple weeks?

Three unprotected picks for Zion? Whole NO is getting off CJ?

They're not "getting off CJ" though. They're swapping his then expiring $30.6m deal for Lavine's $47.5m (with a player option for an additional year at almost $49m). That's not getting off of a deal. That's swapping it for a MUCH more expensive one, and with worse team control, too.

Oh, and DDR's $24.75m, with another year of $10m partial guarantee, or $25.7m if kept.

There's no "getting off" salary with this deal for NO. They add salary next year (around $2m), and then likely add $15m-$30m based on keeping DDR or not (and assuming Lavine doesn't opt out of his near $50m salary)?

Don't the Pelicans have a bunch of outs in Zion's contact? I guess the idea here is CJ bad money off-sets Lavine for a year and they get 2 1sts for Zion. Feels light for Pelicans, but I agree nobody wants Zach let alone him and Derozan. Add in Dallas?

Dallas for Gafford + Martin?

Murray - LaVine - Herb - Murphy - Gafford + a top 5 pick

Still think NO prefers to roll the dice with Zion. They cleared the way for a Murray-Herb-Murphy-Zion-Messi + top 5 pick which if healthy looks solid.

Yeah, CJ probably has less guaranteed money than Demar..

That part of the swap seems to be as much for Sac’s benefit as for NOP’s..

But yeah. I don’t know what Zion is worth. I just don’t see NOP trading him for bad money and two firsts.

Here's how far off it is. You want to move DeRozan and Lavine OFF of SAC because just like with the Bulls they don't work well together. So the answer isn't to send them to NOP, they're not going to work together any better in a third city.
