Cam Whitmore,valué offers

A high-potential prospect, but they'll soon have to pay him, and they're loaded on the wing... Houston is already a fierce competitor and doesn't have time to develop young players. So what offers could they receive? I suppose they'll look for some kind of rotation with an affordable contract and/or draft picks?

He'll be packaged as a throw-in for some other star. Probably 1 of the Suns guys.

That doesn't even make sense for Miami. We have Herro and Wiggins starting, with Robinson, Highsmith, and Jacquez behind them.
And this is Miami. We're not trading a prospect and a pick for another prospect when we could package them for a star.

What star are you thinking will be available for whatever package Miami offers (aside from KD...who I think will have better offers)?

You're telling me that we aren't going to be able to get a star with Ware, JJJ, Jovic, expiring contracts, and 3 first round picks?

I like the idea for Chicago, but would prefer to keep JSmith.
#10/Port pick/JCarter for #12/Whitmore worth it?

I don't have Whitmore as a wing. I have him as a small ball 4 who can fill it up, but is a liability on defense. He needs to show some improvement on that end while still on a rookie contract in order to have good trade value. The fact that he'll be an RFA in 2026, when a bunch of teams have cap space, is a factor here.

Is Jacquez even worth anything in a trade right now? Dude is getting DNPs left and right.

Cam has talent and upside, but also a lot of red flags from before his draft class that haven't been addressed (bball IQ, weird personality, long term health concerns). Probably Rockets' fans want to value him at his upside, but those concerns are legit and carry significant weight for other teams otherwise he wouldn't have slipped all the way to 20. If the Rockets want to cash in on him now, they probably could get a late lottery to mid teens pick for him, otherwise they should keep him and develop him before selling.

PS: it's offers, not offerTs my Spanish friend. Since you post these often, I thought this might help.
I appreciate the correction.

I didn't say he was. I said I'm not giving both he and a first up for Cam Whitmore. He's a sweetener at this point, not a basis for a trade.

It’s Phoenix or nothing imo.
Either packaged for Booker or packaged for Durant.

When the Clippers lose this year perhaps you make a deal around FVV + some combo of Cam/Reed/pick(s) for Harden back
Houston needs a reliable shot creator and Harden is still a great passer as well. Would probable also take a discount to come back to Houston on a competitive team next to Amen/Brooks/Smith/Sengun

Why would the Clippers downgrade without having their picks for a chucking guard that's shooting 38/35, a lottery pick that's shown nothing, or a second year player that'll only have two years left at that point and has shown little or a mid first?

I obviously don’t know the guy personally, but I get weird Ben Gordon vibes from Whitmore. Gordon mostly kept it together as a pro and had some nice seasons, but if you know what happened to the guy after he retired, it’s not a compliment.
Or, to frame it more positively, he seems fiercely, seriously independent.

The rockets chose Fred instead of Harden and have been great when Fred is on the floor I can't see them adding stuff to swap them

I remember it being reported that they literally communicated to Harden they didn’t want him back then because “we weren’t ready to win yet”. I think they are now and are literally just missing a consistent offensive creator that can playmake and make good decisions in the clutch.
I think next to Amen, Brooks, Smith and Sengun they have a great balance of offense and defense. Even swapping Adams in for Smith for more size could work with Harden at the 1.
The Clippers would have to feel they’re going nowhere and would probable bite if Houston is willing to move some Suns picks

I think if they can get some Suns picks and they believe they can develop some of the younger guys coming back they would consider this. I’m not sure how the other option of riding out mid to late 30’s Harden and Kawhi moving forward is a much better option.

I wanted to ask a HOUSTON fan... if they were to trade for KD, who do you think (is more important) would you prioritize keeping FVV or Brooks?
