Say one of the bottom feeders get the #1 pick. They decide to offer Flagg in a deal for Jokic.
Would Denver seriously consider it?

No. You don’t trade the best player in the world for a guy who only has a chance at being a superstar.

It’s a great start, but no.

Not even close. Cooper Flagg isn't as good of a prospect as Victor Wembanyama and there's isn't a world where the Nuggets would even trade Jokic for Wemby, unless Jokic himself asked to be traded. Even if Jokic requested a trade, any team that lands Cooper Flagg would still need to attach additional assets to make it work value wise.

If Wemby is fully cleared to play and you are as tapped out as Denver you trade Jokic for him and never look back.

Only if Jokic is demanding out. And of course the package needs more.

No.
They won't consider it but if Denver doesn't have a credible plan to put a real team around Jokic in the next few years they'd probably be better off making such a move.

If Denver’s FO doesn’t have a credible plan to build a contender around the best player in the world then they all deserve to be fired on the spot

if Jokic is available and Charlotte has the #1 pick, i offer Flagg AND LaMelo, and just try to work something with the rest of ours, Miami, and Dallas' future picks to build a winner now. I think you'd see just about every other team try something similar with the pick and at least one of their top players.
Jokic is not becoming available though, and i don't know why we're treating Flagg like he's a LeBron/Wemby level prospect, because 2003 and 2023 are probably the only drafts I've been around for where trading the best player in the world for a draft pick wouldn't be seen as completely ludicrous.

Maybe just maybe Denver has a conversation if Philly landed the #1 and offered a combination of Embiid, Flagg, McCain + for Jokic.
That is the only scenario and even then they probably decline

Embiid is nearing negative value....not sure he helps the choice or hurts it for Denver.

I can't imagine Denver would do that.

Would probably have to be all three not a combination, then throw in a Maxey/Murray swap to even get it considered

The team getting the first pick wouldn't be in position to trade for Joker. Value wise Flagg and few other good assets would be the kind of package Denver would want for rebuilding purposes. If the Hornets got Flagg, then added Miller and two or three 1st round picks I think that package would be accepted by the Nuggets. I get the feeling Hornets fans wouldn't be happy as the unknown is more appealing no matter how good the veteran player is.
Being realistic I think the only teams that would have the assets and the fit would make sense is OKC and Houston. On a side note, It would be really interesting if one of them got Jokic and the other Giannis.

Maxey , McCain , Flagg to get Denver interest .
Those are positive value while Embiid is at best neutral.

No, you don't. You mortgage your future and trade the pieces around Jokic. This guy is prime Jordan valuable.

Jokic is 30. Denver is tapped out. By the time they do a reshuffle…
A heathy Wemby is the future.

Let’s try it the other way around. If Wemby is healthy and you’re the Spurs, would you trade him for Jokic?

In two seconds flat!
