NOP/DAL - Kyrie/AD for Zion/Murray

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Fri Apr 11, 2025 6:47 pm

Dallas trades:
Kyrie Irving
Anthony Davis

New Orleans trades:
Zion Williamson
DeJounte Murray
Kelly Olynyk

Why for Dallas? They try to salvage an all time wreckage with high upside player in Zion.

Why for New Orleans? They get tired of Zion era and try to win with Davis team beside some players like McCollum, Murphy, Jones, and dump potentially awful contract in Murray.

i have AD > Zion and Irving > Murray at this point. this isn't salvaging a wreckage, this is adding gasoline to fire

Zion is putting up elite numbers per minute this year and his impact has always been felt in win column, despite everything I still think someone should bite on it and try to turn it around health wise.

Per minute is doing all kinds of heavy lifting. What were Brandon Roy's per minute stats?

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Regardless of value, AD and NoLA is not happening. There is a running joke that AD still has not thanked New Orleans fans, teammates, or the org. And the Pels never did a tribute video for him despite his openly complaining about the lack of one.

Think NOP gets great value? Too good honestly..

Think Nike can’t tell Dallas they traded Luka for defensive identity and then trade for Zion…

But either way, AD needs to end up on a third team here IMO and then you see how value looks?

If Dallas did this.. it should be 2025-2026 tank. So gut the roster for whatever assets they can get and faith in Lively/Zion/2026 first/DJM and whatever else there is

Hahahaha I love it! Trade your Superstar who is 25 and just drug you to the championship game but is a bit out of shape... for another Superstar who is much older and has had injury issues his whole career... then turn around and trade that older Superstar for a could have been a superstar who has way WAY worse injury concerns and is way more out of shape consistently than the original out of shape Superstar you traded

Then what move to Las Vegas?
