Booker welcome to Charlotte
PHX trades: Booker
Charlotte trades: Bridges/Mark/#2 pick/Mia 1st
Assuming Charlotte gets the #2 pick and the Suns value Dylan Harper. PHX gets a young guard to start the rebuild around. Bridges is a decent wing who can get you 20 a night on a reasonable contract. Mark obviously has talent he would be a huge steal if his long-term health isn't a problem. They also get the Miami future 1st which is looking better by the day.
Charlotte obviously goes for a star. Booker makes them a legit playoff team in the weak East. They have a core of LaMelo/Booker/Miller to build around.
Who says no?

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
If the Suns are starting over I like the centerpiece. Not sure if it’s enough overall/if they would take Bridges.
For the Hornets, commit to the proper rebuild. What does the front court look like after this? What’s the reasonable goal for that team in the playoffs?

This seems to be selling Booker at a value I'm not sure I agree with. Certainly a haul.

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
The haul is Booker's last two years of contract, right. It just does not make sense at all for Charlotte from a roster building perspective. They badly need an impactful big (positive on the win column i mean..), above all a good pnr finisher.

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
I think I'd aim smaller and more complementary if I'm leveraging a 2025 lottery prospect outside the top 2 (I wouldn't trade 1 or 2).
I might target someone like Devin Vassell instead.

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
i'd probably do this if we're picking 5th or lower. #3-4 maybe, depends on what other moves we have lined up to punt all the bums on our bench and find some better options. but #2? rather just see where Harper can take us

I think PHX would want a young stud in return for Booker to start the rebuild. Not sure you can get that outside the top 3.
Harper would be the main piece in this trade.

and i want a young stud to build with. I don't give up Harper unless he's basically the only thing we're sending

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
Phoenix sends 2 to Houston for picks back and 10.
Instead of all picks, maybe cam and/or Sheppard.
Houston adds one more possible star.
Although might be better if 2 for 10, Sheppard and Cam. Sheppard is great option between Melo and miller. In theory anyway.
Or, Booker to Houston.

of course he is but Harper is 9.5 years younger, and doesn't cost us 2-3 additional building blocks on top of him or $55M/year over the next three years.

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
I don't like this for Hornets at all.
They need to do something, but giving away Pick 2 in a draft that is considered to be great, is the wrong move for me.
I'd much rather see them trade Ball and Bridges and build around Miller and Pick 2.
Booker is a great player, but don't seeing him being THE GUY to lead a great team

Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

I question how much of a building block both injury-prone Mark W and domestic violence-lover Bridges really are FTR. That being said, if the Suns love Harper and sign off on both of those 2 players I think its a fair deal.
I do not like having Bridges in there though. Seriously. He almost killed his wife remember?
Edit: Didn't he beat the crap out of his kids too? I could be remembering that part wrong.

Charlotte says no. They are under relatively new front office and ownership, and were largely mismanaged for the last decade plus. After seeing Ishbia completely sabotage Phoenix’s future with shortsighted moves, Charlotte is wise to take an organic approach, build through the draft and FA acquisitions, rather than try to jump into relevance by trading serious assets for an all star.
Also, Miles Bridges is a NO GO for many teams, and Mark Williams is coming off a voided trade. Just NO from all sides honestly

He is not though.
Unproven and complete and total unknown. As opposed to a former 1st team all NBA and multiple time 2nd team and all star participant.

Nobody is trading 1 or 2 and not for Booker.
Pick 3, sure.

Booker should have enough clout to choose his destination or at least pick several destinations he would ne interested in. I doubt Char makes that list.

Re: Booker welcome to Charlotte
If I am Phoenix I’d rather give Booker to the Rockets and get my draft picks and tank. Nothing worse than being a rebuilding/tanking team and not owning your own draft picks.

Booker is worth more in a vacuum. Not to a rebuilding team. If the Jazz drop to #2 I would not trade it for Booker. If a team like the Spurs jump to #2 and have the chance to trade for Booker it makes sense. But a team like Char or the Jazz who don’t have a bonafide #1 option….makes no sense to trade the pick for Booker.
