T.Young to WOLVES for Randle/DDV/Dillingham/Pistons 25 FRP..
The WOLVES get an ideal fit and form a core to be strong contenders for years to come, gaining a much-needed second scorer and playmaker.
The Hawks, caught in the middle and with one year left on TY's contract, will have to make a decision. In this scenario, they get a young guard prospect, a FRP, and two more than solid veterans expiring. They could trade them to get more value... and here comes the question, which teams and what value could the Hawks get for Donte and Julius?

What hole does Trae Young fill for Minnesota?
What do these pieces provide Atlanta they don't already have, a run at the Play-In again the next 3 seasons?

Why does Atlanta want to limit themselves in this way?
Trae with a 2nd year Zaccharie Risacher, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, Terance Mann, Dyson Daniels and cap flexibility is the better direction.
The other major problem here is Minnesota.

I don't think any team should want to supermax Trae, certainly don't think the Wolves would want to given they just moved off KAT for salary reasons.

Hawks don't have anywhere near a finalized lineup. They have a plethora of options to improve the roster. Will Fields improve it remains to be seen but the table is set for them to do so.
Many stars are going to be traded and the Hawks have the means to get something done than just blowing up the roster for meandering pieces.

In my opinion, the Wolves need another elite scorer (what they lost with KAT) and, above all, a playmaker, which they lack (especially with Conley aging). TraeY would greatly improve those shortcomings...

Would the Wolves benefit from another scorer/playmaker of course but the Wolves made the decision to move KAT because of his contract and getting more flexibility to get under the second apron and avoid the very punitive results of both roster flexibility and monetary for reasons. Don't see a reason they would ship all the assets they got in return for KAT and more to put themselves in the exact same situation they choose to get out of.
