CWhite to Orl

Post#1 » by pipfan » Fri Apr 18, 2025 12:43 pm

Coby had a great March and his best overall season. He's not a 1st option, but a VERY good 3rd option
Orl needs offense, badly. MAYBE he'd take the 4 year, $89 million extension that can be offered

White for Howard/Harris (option picked up), #16/#24
Or
White/Terry for Anthony/Howard/#16/#24

Orl has a guard lineup of Suggs/White/KCP/Black

Bulls focus on Matas/Giddey rebuild. I like Coby but he and Giddey hurt our defense.

This deal should happen.

But considering it didn’t happen this year when he seemed so obvious.. I think Orlando drafts a guard or two and hopes for internal development.

Have you bothered to look at the Bulls roster? They would have to jettison at least 2 players under contract to fit 3 rookies in. If you believe the Bulls are so cheap they aren't going to buyout 2 players so they can pay 2 rookies who can't get playing time. That or they ship two of them off to the G League. That in the face of needing to pay Josh Giddey.

Coby already took the team friendly contract he's got he isn't going to give any other team a break to show what a nice guy e is. He's got his chance for the most money that sets him up for life, he grabbing everything he can get

I still like Coby White and think he would be a good fit here but he is not worth two first-round picks. Cole Anthony, Jett our FRP and second is fair value I think.

There is also the concern to resigning him. We cant afford to pay him 30min per so would he take something like 4 year 25 mil ? If so then its a yes

WEre not going into next year with 4 new picks. We will be trading at the minimum one of our FRP for upgrade rotation player. There is plenty of takers this offseason that look to be selling.

I doubt he takes that extension, but Orlando should consider it anyway.

How about White/JCarter for #16, Anthony, Howard?

This sounds extremely boring, but the likely scenario.

Orlando could be in position to draft one of Richardson or Demin not doing anything or try to move up for Fears.

Also, if Phoenix decides they want to get under the 2nd apron by waiving Martin/Micic Orlando could try to nab Micic for a cheap prove it contract.

Orlando has 2 picks in the top 45… I don’t think pick 57 matters much outside the cheap contract.

They should do the OP. I just don’t think they will. The smarter and IMO more realistic move is to clear the salary they need to clear to get under the tax.

The OP (this version at least) adds a lot of salary as there’s no reason Harris’ option is picked up if the team is (again just my opinion) ducking the tax. And there’s no reason Terry is Orlando’s problem.

But again. If how good Orlando looked when healthy this year didn’t make them trade for Sexton or White..or anyone.. I would expect them to trade up (or get lucky and their guy falls) for one of Fears or Jase or… and do what they need to do to get under tax next season.

Maybe they get aggressive next season. But it shouldn’t be the version posted. It should be Cole or KCP involved, so Orlando has an easier road to get under the tax.

Make it denver pick and its a day. If the 16 pick is more what Chicago wants, then Tristan Da silva would be the player to add. This front office highly values AB. Him and the 16th pick I don't see giving up easy.

That's not Black, that's Cole A/#16/Howard for White and JCarter
Orl goes with
Suggs/White/#24/JCarter
White/KCP/Black
Franz/Black/TDS
Paolo/Isaac/TDS
Carter/Wagner/Goga/Issac
That is a VERY deep team, with tons of defense and hopefully White adds some scoring. At #24 Orl takes the best PG available

Bulls reset their team some and go with
Giddey/Ayo/Anthony
Huerter/Ball/Anthony
PWill/Howard/Terry
Matas/Phillips
Vuc/Collins/JSmith
Plus #11 and #16-I'd like Newell and Wolf or Egor

That's a solid bunch with TONS of expiring deals. We'd be really well positioned to go for a star, with all our picks and the Port pick to play with. Could even deal for Zion and move Matas to the 3

Oh misread, thought you meant AB. Yeah for that deal, call it in. Ill pack their bags and drive them to Chi myself.
