Zion
For
Sabonis, 2026 first round pick (top 10 protected) and two second round picks
Why for NO: They get an all star level center who fits with Herb Jones and Murphy
Why for kings: Swing high with a high risk high reward player that could be top 10 in the league Sac would have an explosive offense with Zion, Lavine, and Monk and solid defenders Kegan, Ellis, and Carter

Picks are going the wrong direction. Sabonis is better than Zion and healthy.

Sabonis should have more value than Zion. And neither team short try to shortcut their rebuild like this honestly..

Sacramento has no choice ownership isn’t ok with a rebuild I’d rather shoot for the stars with Zion instead of the mess we’re in now. If he doesn’t work out and he’s hurt a lot we’d get a good draft pick if we keep what we’re doing we’ll be picking 11-14 every year anyways in no man’s land

First, they do have a choice. Zion is not their only option. Second, if they do want Zion, they shouldn’t have to add picks to Sabonis to get him. This is just totally wrong value wise.

I like the idea of selling Vivek on Zion's potential just to do a proper tank, but I don't see adding picks as needed.
Sabonis for Zion + value is fine.

SAC is no position to be sending picks. Especially not for the most expensive part timer in history.

I can see how Dumars will want to obscure the deal by adding parts but the underlying value is Zion+ for Sabonis.

Okay. If Sac refuses to rebuild and wants to take a shot on Zion, sure.. But that doesn’t mean Zion is worth more than Sabonis?
Sabonis to “Dallas”
Zion and Lively to Sac
Klay, Gafford, Powell/Hardy, 2025 Dallas first, 2026 lottery protected Sac first, 2029 LAL first to NOP
No idea what the right value is there, or the right salary. Just throwing up a bad idea. CLT probably has a similar offer?
Or just have NOP add “a first” to Sac if NOP doesn’t want to do a proper rebuild either..
NOP would need Harper or whoever they draft to develop into a star quickly in order to be a contender.

Not ever interested in Zion.
There is no world where we send out Sabonis and don’t get picks and young potential or an actual star that plays back.
New GM is too sharp for any of that.

No picks just make it a straight up deal.
Then kings find a home for demar after this.
Id do it with no picks

Vivek has a winning mandate. New gm is another figurehead same as the last one. Don't kid yourself

Feels like Sabonis for the Pelicans 2025 pick is fair value in the 3-5 range. I have no idea how to value Zion, but I wouldn’t trade Sabonis for him.

Sabonis has 0 value to other teams. Maybe you can send him to the Bulls like they sent Derozan and Lavine to the Kings, but we all know team around Sabonis is destined to fight for 9th or 10th spot. If that is the value we get back for Zion i would rather ride it out with him playing 30 games a season. At least we can tank properly with him as our primary option.

League’s leading rebounder a couple years running has 0 value? Second best passing center, no value? 19 PPG? Zero value? Ok.

He is making all-stars based on numbers. He isnt worth max contract. If he was earning 25 mils i would say ok, but if you have guy like that earning 45-50 mils, you are not going anywhere... I hope Kings try to shop him and then you will see what is he worth. Probably same as Brandon Ingram was for the Pelicans last year, almost nothing.

I don't necessarily disagree you can't win a title with sabonis. But 80% of times probably aren't really in title contention. You can't win a title with zion, he plays 30 games a year. I said the same to grizzlies fans, you aren't close to title contention now. Sabonis with guys like murray, herb, murphy around him is very easily pushing 50 wins. If Murphy becomes a star like I think he can, they are fighting for home court.
But ya, good is the enemy of great

Murray is awfull as primary creator, after the injury he can only be worse. Murphy will be in his prime 3rd option on a contender. That means you have 3 3rd options and 0 first options on the team. That team is fighting for 10th spot, and best case scenario is they get to playoffs as 8th seed just to get spanked 4-0 in the first round. Sry but i would rather tank couple of years, and start with younger players, then with proven play-in superstars.
Kings somehow got themselves 3 of those. There is no easy route out of that. You either give them away for nothing, or continue fighting for 10th spot.
