Who wants Buddy?

Post#1 » by radtech » Sat Apr 19, 2025 8:33 am

Started out first couple of weeks of the season, now he's trying to do more than he's capable of. His primary job is to shoot and make threes but now he wants to create and dribble.

Which teams want or need basically a three point specialist? And or absorb his contract?

The Magic are the worst three point shooting team by percentage.
The Hornets can absorb his contract without giving any players back.
The Pistons have not gotten much production from Hard away Jr and need more veterans.
Or anybody else.

Nobody wants a buddy but wait closer once free agency is over and a team can talk themselves into trading for him.

He’s such a good player on offense , if he stick to what he does best .

Going back as much as two years with the Bulls trying to trade Zach Lavine they would have been glad to get a Back court Buddy. You're saying that he wants to expand his game to dribble and create maybe if he can he'd be more interesting to teams. By now the Bulls moved Lavne and got back Kevin Huerter who many thought was Buddy like in SAC but he finished the season, shooting well, dribbling and creating plus passing and playing defense. If Buddy can show that he's more Kevin like there's likely a market for him.

Don’t think there’s much a market, but he is a decent player making below MLE. His contract has outs if a team wants to move on after next season..

Saric, Tyson, Miami 2nd (GSW) to Washington/Chicago/etc
Pickett to GSW
Buddy to Denver

Throw in a Denver’s 2032 2nd if you want?

I want Buddy.
Love him as a shooter off the bench for the Rockets.
A couple of seconds and filler salary.
