Nico goes mad (again) and takes the worst contract in the league

DAL in: George, '28 LAC 1st.
DAL out: Gafford, Washington, Martin, Hardy, Powell.

Why? Double down on the 3-year plan by taking on the PG13 contract. Great shooter and good defender that could be the secondary ball handler for Ky at times. Yeah, it kills the cap for Dallas, but this is a good team all said and done. Sign a TP-MLE to right the ship till Ky returns (Tyus Jones or CP3) and draft BPA at #12 (assuming the worst scenario). Sign vet mins (marked with *) that played good this season and go next season with:

(Irving)/Thompson/George/Davis/Lively
TP-MLE (Jones)/Christie/Marshall/Prosper/#12 (Newell)
Williams/Exum*/Ajinca*/Edwards*/Jones*

PHI in: Gafford, Washington, Martin, Hardy, Powell.
PHI out: George, '28 LAC 1st.

Why? Get out of PG13's contract and gain flexibility to build the roster. Yeah, they'd have 5 centers on the roster, so it's not the final roster (IMO you need 4 given Embid's history) and Gafford can hold down the fort for Embiid on some nights.

Maxey/Grimes*/Oubre/Washington/Embiid
McCain/Martin/Edwards/#5 (Murray-Boyles)/Gafford

I feel DAL should get the '28 LAC 1st in this trade, but sinc it's Nico, he'll be content on just getting PG13.

Philly really needs to add something here. Even if you swap PJ out for Klay.. Martin can’t be traded back to Philly, but that seems like a minor problem.

Unless we’re following the “Nico does dumb stuff” model this is an awful deal for the Mavs.

Phily owes their 1st imo (if they don't wind up conveying it to OKC)
investigate Adam Silver

DAL bails PHI out with affordable playable guys for no incentive.

This is probably a couple FRP short.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

You also gotta change PJ to Klay. Then set up another PJ trade where you get an asset you can use on a penetrating guard

I think with the 2028 LAC first… you make it Klay, PJ and Gafford to Philly? Philly takes Hardy, send Powell or Prosper to a third team to avoid a first apron hard cap. Philly probably adds a second to the third team to dump Hardy and enjoy the tax space to keep Grimes?

Philly should only do the 2028 LAC first if they keep their first this year and think PG is really done. There’s cheaper ways to get to the play-in next season than giving up that nice upside pick..
