Dallas trade: Martin, Thompson
Chicago trade: Dosunmu, Williams, 45, future 2nd(s)
Why for Dallas: Eat Williams' salary to pick up a promising young guard who can play next to Irving
Why for Chicago: get out of Williams' contract and add 3 pt shooting next to Giddey.

I guess for Dallas? Not sure Chicago should be using assets to dump Williams though so I'm guessing this is a no for them.

I think they will be committing bug money to Coby and giddey to be their ball handler and likely to move on from Ayo. At least thats what pipfan has been doing in all his proposals (trading ayo for a pick/paying a pick to dump williams).

Dallas should do this IMO. Patrick would be a good fit if he can bounce back, Ayo would be a good fit in general.
Chicago gets good value, but I don’t think they should be worried about dumping Williams compared to collecting assets.

CHI has no real incentive to add what limited assets they have to dump Pat right now.

The Bulls are moving Ayo so they don't have to offer him a new contract, dumping Williams salary and his defense to get more salary for at least two years, better shooting? and less defense and they give up it looks like 3 SRP's. Yes they seem to be ready to commit money to Giddey this summer and Coby next, but they pile up overlapping years for Thompson and Martin when they could keep the size of William and just let Ayo go. They have ball and Huerter as shooters, they could gamble that Williams bounces back to his previous 40% from 3.
I get people thinking the Bulls need to dump Williams, he did average 25 mpg last year when people act like he was junk, in his lowest season Ayo played 26 so when you look at Thompson and Martin, both played 27 mpg last year. If they're a step up for the Bulls why didn't DAL get them in the game more?
Klay when ON is a step up for shooting on any team but I don't see the overall roster situation improving for the Bulls

its not just a dump.. Martin is better than williams on court and klay is a better fit next to coby/giddey on offense. i think their team is better after this trade

Probably, but the focus should be longterm. I'd rather have the younger players and 2nds.
