Who do you choose for your team moving forward?

This feels like a player comparison topic not a trade board topic, but I'll assume this is related to the ongoing discussion in the other thread and that if the question goes more to value, I guess it's fine here. Especially in the off-season.

I'm still going Sengun.

Easier to build a team around banchero than sengun

Any chance of doing up a quick defensive stats comparison as well ?


Offensively Sengun is a notch better right now but once defense is added might be leaning towards Banchero.

Eye test shows Sengun improved from his rookie season but might not be enough .

is he better because he isnt the #1 option? I still want to see Paolo playing with a real PG so that he isnt having to bring the ball up and do everything for offense.

I like Sengun, but it's Banchero and it's not close for me.

I'd go Paolo because it's an easier archetype to build around. But if there isn't an uptick in efficiency next yr I might change my mind.

And some of that could be the roster around him and needing to get a real PG. But it needs to improve.

Think Sengun is probably the better player today? And they’re the same age. And Sengun will likely be much cheaper for 3 of the next 4 seasons.

Yet still voted for Paolo.. willing to take the risk of Paolo developing. And think Sengun benefits a lot from a pretty great situation (still a young star locked up below max) while Paolo is left with a really incomplete roster (seems like the FO left it that way by design)

Hmm...and how easy is it to build around an inefficient, large wing who can't switch well defensively, isn't a good shooter and isn't an elite passer compared to the better wings in the NBA?

Meanwhile Sengun is already much better defensively than someone like Sabonis and is well ahead of where Jokic was at the same point defensively. Sengun had excellent instincts defensively since he played in Europe as a teenager and those instincts have translated well to the NBA. Don't let his offensive game or skin colour fool you, he is a good defender.

Id go banchero. I think the recipe to building around him is much easier. I say that watching sabonis (yes sengun is better), it's very hard to build the right team around that kind of center. Handful of forwards you need next to them.

Banchero and not that close for me.

Sengun has been efficient in the NBA, you agree?
Sengun was somehow difficult to hide defensively even though Houston finished 4th defensively and Sengun had a large Defensive On/Off. Can you explain that?

well since i'm not comparing archetypes, but sengun vs banchero, i have to say some of you guys are tripping

sengun is not only a much better player than banchero at this point in his career, but houston is a much better and better constructed team around sengun than this orlando magic have been able to be.

reality is out there. banchero isn't even worthy of being compared to sengun. franz wagner on the other hand... that would be a challenge because he's so much more portable and versatile.

I dont think he's been very efficient for a C even in the prior 2 years.
Houston had really bad back up C play for large part of the season, which partially explains the big diff in on/off. Reminds me of how great FVV's on/off numbers were on the raptors when we had no credible back up PGs. i will remain skeptical in his ability to anchor a defense.

Sengun is a legit plus defender on a top 4 defense can we stop with the "archetype" puddle deep analysis with him
