I get Lebron only gets traded if he signs off. But maybe he's down to go play with kyrie and AD? Opts out and s&t for 2/90ish

Gafford, klay, Martin, Hardy for Lebron

Why for Dallas? They push in for lebron and a short 2 year window.
Kyrie/Exum/Williams
Christie/Dinwiddie
Lebron/Naji
AD/PJ
Lively/Powell

Why for Lakers? Do lebron a solid. Break his contract into a ton of moveable pieces. Begin the build around luka. Would have Martin, vando, kleber, Vincent, Hardy, knecht salaries to trade and improve.

Luka/Vincent
Reaves/Hardy/Knecht
Klay/Martin
Rui/DFS/Vando
Gafford/Kleber

LeBron says no, also the messaging from Dallas is that they trust tbe current roster.

Can’t do a 2yr sign and trade.

But can figure out the numbers if LBJ wants to play with AD and Kyrie.

I think LAL is it for him personally.

I thought defense wins championships and Lebron doesn’t play defense anymore

Nico would be able to go outside again...maybe this is already agreed to - still trying to make sense of Luka move.

I would make the package a little different..PJ/Gafford/Christie/Martin/Hardy/Powell+ Lakers 29 for Lebron/Bronny/Knecht/Goodwin

Why does DAL owe a 1st?

Interesting. I think Lebron, even at his age could still really help the Mavericks win and one of the main weakness the Mavericks have is the lack of ball handling. However I think Lebron is more content with doing a retirement tour next year than winning, so I think he says no to the trade and stays in LA.

Luka's favorite player is Luka. He drafts him every single year in the all-star game. He may have fond memories of Kyrie and AD, but he knows which player gives him the best chance to win right now. Plus he chose LA for other reasons than winning.

I just can't see this one.

I did  But yeah Luka is probably Luka's favorite too.

I think if LBJ did want to leave LA, while staying on his max, Dallas might make the most sense given the ties to those two players?

No idea if that would factor or he’d prefer to go play with Joker or such?

Think the offer falls somewhere between the OP and the counter in this thread.

If LeBron is open to leaving, I'd like to see him go to Phoenix in a Booker deal. LeBron and Durant in one last hurrah for each of them up front, Beal/Tyus/Dunn,/etc. at guard, and find someone who plays defense to play center.

LA gets a lesser star in the prime of his career. Defense will be a challenge admittedly.

You think the fans will go to another game if these two teams mocked our intelligence again??

All-star game is one thing.

I question what it looks like when Lebron walks into the front office and Luka is sitting there already planning the roster with Buss and Pelinka lol. Not sure his ego will accept that. Yes they need a center, but does adding Capela in the off-season, or swapping Kleber, Vincent, Knecht for Claxton really make this a title team?

I think 2 more runs in Dallas with his old pals + great depth gives him his best chance at a title.

If he wants to win at all costs before retiring, would the Cavs be a better option? Would Cleveland be interested?
Hunter/Allen/Okoro for LeBron/Bronny/Knecht+FRP?

If it’s just about winning, I think the most likely contenders would be Denver (MPJ+) or OKC..

Presti shouldn’t want to trade for a long term star due to the coming tax penalties.. But LBJ isn’t a long term star. No idea if he’ll play after 2026 or not.. And Luka gets a center in Hartenstein..

But I really don't see LBJ wanting to be traded, which means you don’t trade LBJ..

So I can't know about Lebron's ego. I'm sure he has a big one. I also know he told Luka the day he arrived, this is your team now. Ego, almost certainly. But also one of the smartest dudes to ever do it. I don't think he's naive.

And they have assets to do more than Capela or Claxton. So not sure why the options are that or trading Lebron?

But I suspect they will add a center, make some other adjustments and try and win with Luka and Lebron. That's certainly what I would do.

I hear ya, not sure I believe Lebron when it comes to that. He said the same thing to AD for 5 years, but we all knew who ran that team.

What assets do the Lakers have? Knecht (personally not very high on, is he worth a late 1st?), a 2031 1st + swaps? I don't want to underestimate what Lakers can do with that because they always seem to pull magic out of a hat, but that package isn't very exciting lol.

People get that LBJ could retire THIS summer, right? Like it's not outside the realm of possibility he could hang them up.

I'd love for LBJ to return for a farewell tour off the bench, but I can't imagine trading all that to pay him more than $50M the year he turns 41.
