Can the Knicks get Giannis for 4 first rounders, 1 pick swap & Bojan Bogdanovic & Anunoby & more?

Hmmmmm..... now what's stopping the Knicks from making this offer right now? Cannot seem to put my finger on it... :-? I hope the Knicks didn't do anything rash that the fanbase has been begging them never to do. I'm not very sure

I would think the Knicks would have to reluctantly throw in OG Anunoby, but having all the draft capital compartmentalized into ONE just sounds like it's worth it for a guy like Giannis to go along with Jalen & KAT. THAT...THAT is a Big 3.

All they have to do is just give up 4 first rounders, 1 pick swap, and Bojan Bogdanovic!

This is about 12% of the average lifespan of a human being, this treasure trove is the NBA's gift as a REWARD FOR SUCKING & waiting, so to give ALL OF THIS UP as an asset of waiting means you better know what the **** you're doing instead of throwing it away, because if you have championship aspirations, you should get all your moves right, instead of only acing the Karl Anthony Towns move, because all this means is coming up JUUUUST short only to have sucky years ahead where you pick #1 in **** 2035. And people wonder why fans abandon sports & 10% the fans they used to be, in favor of girls & work under their own control, because relying on Leon Rose's & ANY KNICKS GM'S vicissitudes for their happiness is a fool's errand.

So let's say... this HAUL isn't enough for 30 year old Giannis Antentekounmpo who's disgruntled & inevitably leaving.

Then you could simply use it on an amazing great guy like Zion Williamson (most likely) or Devin Booker or Tyrese Maxey (another Process)? Luka was always going to LA for Anthony Davis in Nico's & the NBA's mind. New Orleans would LOVE all of those draft picks! Don't even mention Phoenix! There's so many people in the top 3 overall drafts in 2021/2022/2023 you could have inquired & waited about. You never know what directions franchises will take with Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson if other teams are seeing a team is mortgaging so far ahead.

A common refrain is that the Knicks were hoping to "reunite the Villanova 4!!!". That went away fast after the KAT trade, so to give away the picks just for that when it didn't matter in the KAT trade doesn't seem efficiently optimal.

So what do you think? Would this haul by the Knicks entice the Bucks to part with Giannis, as Giannis would be overjoyed to play with Jalen & KAT?

I'm having a rather hard time thinking that OG Anunoby & Mikal Bridges would do it for Giannis. But OG Anunoby & picks might?

Assessing the market over time & striking with your assets would have done this team very well, even if there's no immediate short-term payoff. Now the Knicks face rebuilding. The only way to be liberated from the manacles is to focus on your girl (or many girls) & focus on your job.

It would so nice for the Knicks to attempt this at least... worth a try!

So what's stopping the Knicks from making this offer?

Did anything....happen perchance?

What's stopping us from offering 4 first rounders and 1 pick swap? Among many other things, we don't have 5 first rounders to trade.

Also, while Giannis is great (and would deserve that haul), Zion is fat and always injured (did I mention he's fat?), and neither Booker nor Maxey are likely being traded. (And even if they were, see my response above.)

If Giannis wants the Knicks, he will get it. Now someone just needs to sell him on the idea of being a superstar in New York and playing in MSG's bright lights for the Knicks, hopefully winning the championship and becoming a legend in the city. You would think this could interest Giannis?

Didn’t they just trade multiple picks for Mikal Bridges?

Pretty sure that's what the OP was getting at, in a sarcastic way, if you read the bold parts.

I'd say the blocker is that Bojan Bogdanovic isn't part of our team since June last year^^.

He needs to go back to humor school then. I mean seriously, of all the things to dig at us for.... :banghead:

While the Mikal trade was not a favorite of mine, the Knicks had just spent 20+ years waiting for the BiG nAmE who would swoop in and sAvE uS!! I remember we were going to get LeBron, KD, Kyrie, Donovan Mitchell, etc., etc.,--either as free agents or in trades--and it never happened. Bottom line: nobody decent wanted to play for us/trade with us for the longest time.

Now, we've got a competitive squad--the core all under 30--and just need health, continuity, and likely a new coach. I think we're doing just fine.

Also, the OP went in and edited his OP after I first posted, adding this: "Did anything....happen perchance?"

Oh, ok. I read it the first time right before I made that post.

We already traded tons of picks for Bridges who wasn't even worth 2 picks....

I'm not taunting or making digs. I genuinely feel Leon Rose did something that prevented the Knicks from winning a championship.

And, as a pending free agent, he wouldn’t be legally tradeable anyway….

OP needs to work on his punchlines and no as much as people harp on those picks. None of them are supposed to be good picks, the Knicks one in theory might not even be lottery picks. If the bucks wanted draft picks the Spurs and Thunder could offer better packages and better players for matching salary.

Zero chance without any good young prospects and first round picks.
