ORL - SAC

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Tue May 6, 2025 1:59 pm

———————

ORL Gets: Malik Monk
ORL Gives: Jonathan Isaac
Why for ORL? The Magic have a lot of frontcourt depth at the moment. They move one of their bigs for a guard who can help run the offense, make plays for others, and space the floor for Wagner & Banchero.

PG - Monk / Black / Anthony / Joseph
SG - Suggs / Caldwell-Pope / Harris
SF - Wagner / Howard / Houston
PF - Banchero / Da Silva
C - Carter / Wagner/ Bitadze

SAC Gets: Jonathan Isaac
SAC Gives: Malik Monk
Why for SAC? The Kings bring in Isaac hoping he can be that ideal fit next to Sabonis (if he can improve his shot) while opening up minutes for Carter to log more minutes at PG. I’d still follow-up with a DeRozan trade after this.

PG - Ellis / Carter
SG - LaVine / Davis
SF - Murray / DeRozan
PF - Isaac
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones

I don't view Jonathan Issac as being a positive value contract considering his offensive limitations and I still have concerns about his injury history. I feel any Issac/Monk swap should include the Kings getting a 1st round pick or two back.

I agree. Monk was nearly the 6MOY the previous season, and for good reason. I am not as concerned about Isaac’s protected contract as I am his continually unavailability. I like the trade’s direction, but I have Monk as a more valuable player than Isaac.

Sure. I’ll drive Isaac to the airport.

Always wanted Isaac on Kings but giving up Monk is too rich here.
