BOS - ORL - SAC (Version 2)

------------------------------
BOS GETS: Kentaviois Caldwell-Pope
BOS GIVES: Jrue Holiday & #28
WHY FOR BOS? The Celtics shed a lot of payroll next year which gives them huge tax savings while at the same time still getting a younger, productive player who is locked up for the next few years (allowing them to extend their window). Meanwhile, Holiday will be 35 years old at the start of next season.
PG - White / Pritchard / Davison
SG - KCP / Scheierman
SF - Brown / Hauser
PF - Tatum / Walsh
C - Porzingis / Tillman / Queta
------------------------------
ORL Gets: Malik Monk
ORL Gives: Kentaviois Caldwell-Pope
Why for ORL? The Magic are in need of some more ballhandling, passing, and playmaking. Monk can help with that along with spacing the floor for Wagner & Banchero. Not to mention Monk is much younger and more aligned with ORL’s timeline.
PG - Monk / Anthony / Joseph
SG - Suggs / Black / Harris
SF - Wagner / Howard / Houston
PF - Banchero / Da Silva / Wagner
C - Carter / Isaac / Bitadze
------------------------------
SAC GETS: Jrue Holiday & #28
SAC GIVES: Malik Monk
WHY FOR SAC? Holiday gives them a legit PG to help run the offense while also being able to defend at an elite level, space the floor, and provide some scoring. He’ll also be a good mentor for Carter and Ellis as well as a great fit next to LaVine. On top of that, the Kings get back into the 1st round. I’d still look to pull off a follow-up DeRozan trade after this one.
PG - Holiday / Carter
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Davis
SF - DeRozan
PF - Murray
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones
------------------------------

Why is the Celtics paying to give the Kings value for Malik Monk? Swapping out Jrue Holiday poor, but huge expiring contract for KCP on a long term contract is not worth a 1st, even if it's very late 1st. The Celtics need to be cut out and the Magic need to send out one of their picks for this year.

I feel this is overrating KCP. I'd have Orlando sending the pick to the Kings to make this deal.

Someone fill me in, but this can't be legal for Sac right? There is a 14million dollar difference between Monk and Jrue, and we aren't a cap space team. We would need to find a home for JVal to make this legal.
But I agree with others here. KCP wasn't good this year, feels like if anyone owes here, Orlando is paying

Yep. Maybe could rope in a SNT of LaRavia or Lyles somewhere to make the money work. If not likely Val got to come into play to make the money work.
Orlando likely has to add #25 here at least.

I don't think we can S&T LaRavia because the contract issues. That'd be great to include Lyles here.
I'm also not opposed to moving JVal personally if we can find somewhere to give us a few 2nds back.
At a minimum after this deal we need to find a move for Demar (Dallas? Naji + Martin + Powell?). Hopefully however unlikely, we resign LaRavia. Then we would have an exception to grab more of a defensive backup center like Adams ideally or Looney.
Jrue/Carter
LaVine/Keon
Naji/Martin
Keegan/LaRavia
Sabonis/Adams or Looney
I'd actually love going into the season with a roster like this.

Not a 100% sure but I think the Kings can SNT LaRavia up to his declined QO of 5.2m. I think that is still shy of the needed money here but at least gets in the ball park if he is willing to sign for that. As a Grizz fan I am interested to see what he gets this offseason, ironically enough if we lose Aldama I wouldn't mind going after him with our room exception this year if we stay under the cap and renegotiate JJJ's contract and LaRavia is open to a return.

If he is willing to sign for 5.2, I want the Kings to keep him for sure. I'd prefer him over JV, he was great for us. We are a team starved for wings

Boston says NO. KCP is not a Boston guy, lol. His contract terms don't work for the C's lux tax situation. Nothing about this works for Boston's side.

I forgot to call this out in the OP. I have more that would be added to the entire trade framework to make it legal but didn’t want to add the other part since it’s been discussed enough. For the sake of clarity though, this is the entire framework of the deal…
------------------------------
BOS GETS: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
OR Jonathan Isaac
BOS GIVES: Jrue Holiday
------------------------------
DAL Gets: DeMar DeRozan
DAL Gives: Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, & Dwight Powell
------------------------------
ORL Gets: Malik Monk & Dwight Powell
ORL Gives: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
OR Jonathan Isaac & #25
------------------------------
SAC GETS: Jrue Holiday, Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, & #25
SAC GIVES: DeMar DeRozan & Malik Monk
------------------------------
That leaves the Kings with a roster of…
PG - Holiday / Carter
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Davis
SF - Murray / Martin
PF - Marshall
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones

I’m not arguing the value, but Monks fit/role.
Monk is an undersized SG that is a mediocre/below average shooter. He is essentially a rich man’s Cole Anthony.
I would rather replace KCP w/ Cole Anthony (expiring) and maybe attach a few SRP’s and have him replace Cole’s production off the bench. Yes, he’s better than Cory Joseph but not a longterm solution at PG for Orlando.
