Okay so we have several teams looking for a PG this summer (Magic, Bucks, Mavs, Suns), but lets say they all go with different options as these guys just prove too costly a salary to fit in.

for Portland its bring back an old favorite who is more likely to re-sign to a reasonable deal to be a vet 6th man or maybe he just has a swan song and moves on. They also gain a bit more room to maneuver under the tax line.

for the Pels, they take a chance on the younger guy and use next year to see if he is fit moving forward as an offensive minded guard.

Been there, done that. Not going back.

I had this in my New Orleans Mock-Off-Season (worst one so far as the only discussion was centered around a Giannis to Portland trade) and rightfully so.

I had the difference in value as the 2026 MIL/NOP Swap and 2027 MIL/NOP 1st going to Portland and the 2030 Portland 1st going to Milwaukee.

All things considered I had Simons worth more, and I believe that is the case, but a whole 1st more unless it's late.

Unfortunately I think C.J. is a year or two too old to be their Tobias Harris. I like this deal for New Orleans. Again I like this being part of a Giannis to Portland type trade.

We already made the choice between Simons and CJ, I haven't seen the least bit of regret about that. Most common is the stance that both needed to go, but no one is saying bring CJ back.

Simons might bring something back, maybe not but might. CJ definitely is not getting any value back.

CJ makes 3 million a year more, unless I'm missing something. So doesn't save portland money. Easy no for me.

I actually like CJ more than ant as far as leadership but no way he fits our timeline either

Just to throw gas in this one, Simons had a baby with BI’s baby mama. While BI isn’t here any more, all of his friends are.
