DDR to Hou

I know Hou could go for KD or even Giannis, but I think this makes more sense.
Brooks/Whitmore for DDR
Sac gets a defensive minded 3 man, and an ok prospect for the future
Carter/Lavine/Brooks/Murray/Sabonis, bench of Monk, Whitmore, Val, Ellis-that's a more balanced lineup
Hou gets a very good vet scorer, without losing any top assets. DDR would accept a 6th man role, I'd think, with a coach like Ime asking it
FVV/Reed
Green
Amen/DDR
Smith/Eason
Sengun/Adams
Still have the #9 to play with as well, one of Kon, KJ or Tre should fall to there, to add shooting
DeRozan is a great vet presence, and can get buckets late, one-on-one
With growth from their young guys, that team could win the West, and still have tons of future assets

Reasonable trade.

I don't think Houston would trade Brooks for DDR.

I don't think Houston should trade Brooks for DDR.

Yeah, even Brooks for DDR is bad enough for the Rockets, let alone adding Whitmore. I have a tough time seeing DDR valued at anything positive, you might get a usable expiring that fits better from some desperate team, but I doubt you'll get more.

Teams get better when DDR leaves them and they get worse when he joins them.
No thanks.

I just think Houston could use a vet like DDR-they have enough defense. The reason they lost to GS was no one to get buckets
Brooks is also a hot-head, and weak on offense. Hou could use someone to create
Anyway, no worries-I still think it's a fair deal, but I know DDR has a terrible rep here

Derozan on a team with the spacing of a 2000s team doesn't sound like it'll work. I don't want to trade our best shooter for another non-shooter.

Yea, not the direction I would go.

I think if Houston misses on kd, and the rest of the star pgs don't become available, some sort of 3 way deal using green instead of brooks.
Orlando out: Isaac, Anthony, Gary Harris
Orlando in: Green
Orlando takes a chance using green with suggs and kcp as the 3 guard rotation.
Kings out: Demar
Kings in: Isaac, Whitmore, Gary Harris
Kings swap demar for couple forwards with problems.
Houston out: Green, Whitmore
Houston in: Demar, cole
Rockets get expiring Cole, and the more reliable demar. This obviously only if they miss on the bigger targets.

Well... A big part of why Houston is bad on offense is lack of shooting which this makes significantly worse

expensive. DDR is a positive in my view still, just not worth Brooks and a recent first round pick showing promise

I agree that op isn't good for rockets. But I think they get past GS swapping Green for him.
Obviously rockets have the assets to chase a Ja, Trae or booker. So the target should be higher, but if they miss, then getting Demar for a year and going after the big target in a year is better than running it back.

I personally don't think Demar works on this team. The idea of having a proven scorer sounds appealing, but all scorers aren't built the same. All scorers aren't equally dominant and all scorers aren't malleable to every team in the league. I don't see Demar as being our go-to perimeter guy when he'll get the opposing team's best defender.

Orl Hou Sac 3 way isn’t bad. Orl might owe more value though, like a 1st, and/or Da Silva

Value wise it's reasonable, not sure that the teams feel like they need to do it though.
Demar obviously give Houston a better offensive floor (that's not a very high bar here.) but isn't really going to get you anywhere beyond that, ultimately unless they can trade for a top 10-15ish player type (preferably not super old too), they're probably better off hoping one of their young player develop.

Pointing out that Demar is actually a very good reason to stay optimistic on the likes of Jalen Green, this their age 22 head to head comp, even with higher offensive environment it's hard to argue that Jalen isn't better at the same stage, granted he started a year younger

Houston shouldn't want Demar at all.

I've been banging the drum that Houston needs to make a move for a legit #1 scorer for a while, but I don't think Demar is that guy anymore. And he makes their already poor spacing even worse.
