CAVS
In:Black/Goga/Hachimura /Future FRP(Magic top 5 prot)/Lakers31
Out:Allen/Okoro/C.Porter
The Cavs are solving some roster-building issues, improving their depth by getting a big, defensive-oriented guard, a big wing who is an excellent 3-point shooter, and a backup center with a solid contract and 2 future FRP.
LAKERS
In: Allen/Okoro
Out:Reaves/Hachimura
gets an ideal center for Luka and a good young defender.. after this go after a scoring guard that replaces Reaves(Sexton,Simons etc) with your remaining assets(FRP31/Knecht/Swaps and expiring contracts)
MAGIC
In;Reaves/Porter
Out:Black/Goga/Future FRP
Magic gets a much-needed scoring guard, while they could fill the gap in the draft for a backup center.

I would need that 2031 unprotected LAL pick as well if I am Cleveland. Allen is really good, a great fit for LA, and on an incredibly reasonable deal.

ya i have Allen, under contract for the prime of his career on a reasonable contract, worth at least an unprotected 1st from the Lakers on top of Reaves.

I have my reservations as Reaves as full time PG. We could use his shooting but Orlando will likely go for more traditional PG/combo guard. Also we are not paying reaves 30mil+

Well, the Magic will have his bird rights and the option to extend him before he hits free agency... he's proven to be a really good 3rd fiddle and in Orlando he'd be much better surrounded and above all, who could they realistically target that would be better? Besides, the year he has left is cheap, it gives them some flexibility to adjust financially (trade KCP due to expiring at the deadline... Cole expiring, Goga being replaced by a rookie, etc.)

Austin Reaves does not carry anything close to this level of value. The Magic should be aiming a lot higher if they're giving up a 1st round pick and Anthony Black. I don't think the Magic should even be interested bringing in Austin at all, unless he comes in as a Free Agent next off season on a major "discount" based on how poorly he performed in the playoffs.

Feels very light for the lakers to be giving up Reaves.

Reaves has played 3 seasons in the postseason. Here are his numbers.
17/5/4 on 46/38/89 shooting. 1.3 OBPM, +/- of +1.4 and +6.0 On/Off.
Next-up, Darius Garland with 3 seasons as well. Here are his numbers.
18/2/6 on 44/36/86 shooting. 0.3 OBPM, +/- of -7.5 and -10.8 On/Off.

I'd probably Include Hawks and send Dean Wade, Goga, and the Orlando first to Atlanta for Okongwu and send him to Cleveland.

seems way to steep for orlando..reaves is exp sg and bad defender...not as big i need as pg for magic..with magic giving all that better be a long term starter ..not a guy that can walk in a yr or need and would want big overpay....at that price magic look at other options

If Austin would just shave his head, I swear views of him would change. But he has that schoolboy look and I think some stereotypes just slide unconciously in.
He's not a star, but he's a quite good offensive player with enough size that he's not the defensive disaster this board paints him as either. After the trade, the Lakers were playing with no real center, old Lebron, Reaves, Rui, and Luka and not just holding up defensively, but being one the best units in the league.
We way too quickly write off who can be part of a good defense, mostly as it suits our needs sadly. This is a good player on a bargain contract who shot the ball poorly over a small sample size. Yawn.

Just curious, what goals were you thinking about?

I don't think Orlando's defense got any worse with him at all, individually he's decent and has good size for his position, he's smart... the Lakers' poor setup after the trade is the real culprit for the Lakers looking so vulnerable.

Why are the Cavs making the Magic, or the Lakers for that matter, better at their own expense?

The premise is that the Cavs do it because they improve themselves... in the hypothetical case that they are eliminated in a resounding manner by the PACERS and the recent past experiences in the Playoffs, would indicate that they must change something, if they want to have a different result.

That's an argument for changing something, one that Altman ignored last summer to the benefit of the organization. It's not an argument for making a trade that results in a less talented team. In any event, most of these trades that have the Cavs aggregating salaries or taking on extra salary aren't going to be legal anyway as the Cavs will be over the 2nd apron.
It's a fantasy board. I understand it's fun for people. I'll bow out for a bit and let people have their fun.

For that price I cant say no.
