AD for #2
Dallas and San Antonio
Davis for #2, Johnson, Barnes
Why Spurs? They are in a weird spot after trading for Fox and ending up with #2 and another PG as BPA. Instead they choose to go all in with twin towers but not with Giannis that will probably cost much more than Harper. Davis/Wemby comco is still a nightmare defensively and there is enough ball available for Fox to become effective. San Antonio will be at 167 mil after this with 11 contracts and enough room under the tax to bring more help with the MLE.
Fox..........Wesley.........#38
Castle.......Branham
Vassell......Champagnie
Davis........Sochan
Wemby......#14
Why Dallas? They turn Luka into Harper/Cooper that could become the most exciting combo of the future. I prefer this route instead of selling Cooper too. If Mavs pull that trade there are a ton of follow up moves with every other vet on the table (Kyrie, Klay, PJ, Gafford) for more assets. Mavs still have their 2026 FRP, so I wouldn't push the rookies much this season to complete a quick rebuild with another lottery ticket next season.
Harper.........Hardy..........Irving (inj)
Christie.......Johnson........Prosper
Thompson....Barnes..........Martin
Cooper........Washington....Marshall
Lively..........Gafford........Powell

I wouldn’t if I were Spurs. Davis is too old and too injury prone.

Re: AD for #2
Don't see the luckiest franchise in sports history doing it, but Dallas should take it and run

Re: AD for #2
Dallas brings up a very interesting scenario. The AD/Kryrie window is the next 2-3 years and Flagg is likely 3-4 years away from reaching his full potential. Dallas also does not control their draft from 27-30, but owns their pick next year. So I get the rationale for turning AD into rebuilding pieces, especially with Kyrie out most of next year.
But the more I think about it, it’s so hard get two all-stars on your roster with depth. And Dallas has that. I think you ride this team with Flagg developing as a role player and figure out re-tooling around him in 2028 or whenever the window closes.
Kyrie-Christie-Flagg-Davis-Livley
Flagg provides secondary playmaking which Dallas was desperately needing.
They have optionality to add another shooter (Klay) or play small ball (PJ).
I think the bigger question becomes do you use Gafford to get another all handler in the backcourt

Re: AD for #2
I dont think AD is worth the #2, Dallas needs to add. Call the Lakers.
AD and Reaves to Spurs, #2 to Dallas, Lively to Lakers. Add salary and seconds. We in LA are always happy to help, guys!
Here is the question, if healthy, this team can win it all?
Fox/Castle
Reaves
Vassell
AD
Wemby

I wouldn't add Lively, with Flagg, I'd prioritize the future, not the present, but I totally understand Spurs not doing this, I wouldn't either, they should either draft Harper or push for Giannis.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

I feel those assets would be better used for Giannis. AD is amazing, but he's too injury prone to pay this much for.

Re: AD for #2
If Dallas adds the LAL first does it get it done? I’d throw in Christie or whatever else as well honestly.
Getting to start Harper, Flagg, Lively after trading Luka feels fair…
Realistically, SAS should be the team to land Giannis unless they are afraid of Wemby’s health. If Dallas is trading AD, don’t think they can get Harper… If you think Joel is going to be healthy at end of season, maybe you can get Philly? If CLT is desperate to come out of the rebuild they are there at 4th..
Still think Houston would trade 10th, a Phoenix first and whatever matching salary that likely includes something useful for a rebuild.

AD for #3 + Paul George feels closer to his actual value imo, and AD actually goes to a team trying to make something happen right now
investigate Adam Silver

IF Dallas was going to do what some of my fellow Mavs fans want and tank hard next year, then I guess? But I kinda hate doing a rebuild where you can't take advantage of the cheap rookie years of Flagg and whomever you take at 3 because you've clogged your cap with PG. So I'd not have interest in this.
Agree San Antonio shouldn't be doing the OP.

The 76ers pass. Anthony Davis does not make the 76ers a true contender. If Emiid somehow returns back to form, perhaps this is worth looking at. Other than, no thanks.
