This is based on.
The Mavericks deciding to keep Cooper Flagg instead of going after Giannis.
It's clear the big men position is very overcrowded and multiple guys are going need to be moved.
Mavericks/Pistons/Heat
Mavericks Out: Anthony Davis
Mavericks in: Jaden Ivery,Ron Hollard, Duncan Robinson,Pistons 2027,2029,and 2031 1st round picks with the option to swap picks in 2030, multiple 2nd round picks from the Heat.
Pistons out: Tobias Harris, Ron Hollard, Jaden Ivery, Pistons 2027,2029 and 2031 1st round pick, 2030 pick swap option
Pistons in: Anthony Davis
Heat out: Duncan Robinson, multiple 2nd round picks
Heat in: Tobias Harris
Why the Mavericks do? They focus their attention on building around Cooper Flagg. They get multiple 1st round picks and young players with upside back for trading Anthony Davis.
Why the Pistons do this? With the East looking wide open and weak as it does right with the events that have happened, the Pistons advantage of that, by going all on Anthony Davis to help them take the next level towards being a Championship contender. They also keep Jalen Duren in this deal, so ether get a lot of AD at the power Forward position or they could flip Duren for significant value if believe Davis is a full time Center.
Why the Heat do this? They turn Duncan Robinson and 2nd round into a better player who can help them stay competitive.

Yeah, the team that was burned on Blake Griffin deal isn't doing this, but if we're going to judge on value, then 31 1st and the 30 swap shouldn't be there, the teams can haggle over the 29.
I also would cut out MIA.

Dallas should rather give PHI a call about #3 and then to the Spurs for #2 to get Dylan

I can get behind an AD trade and another tank season. Hold out Kyrie a bit longer and let him use this season to get his feet under him and try and get another top 5 pick to put with Flagg/Lively for the future (+ the assets you get for AD)

I don’t like Pistons giving up both depth and many future assets when they are a young upcoming team to land Davis, who I don’t believe brings them a championship even if he is healthy, and is more likely to not be healthy. The price tag would have to come down quite a bit.

Dallas likely won’t go this route, but if they do the OP is an overpay to me.

I doubt Dallas reverses paths into rebuild months after trading Luka - to "win now."
I think it is highly likely that Flagg is dealt.

Davis doesn't have that kind of value and Detroit wouldn't touch that, that's gross. He is very injury prone and on the wrong side of the 30's. That package likely gets you Giannis who is 10x the player AD is and doesn't come with the injuries.

AD doesn’t have half that value. He’s aging, on a huge contract, and routinely injured.
