Market for #3

Philly may be evaluating trading the third pick if the offer is right. My guess is that they would still want to stay in the top seven though.

They would be looking for either another first and/or a youngish forward. Maybe something like #5 + #21 from Utah or #7 + Herb Jones.

Thoughts for what would be equivalent value?

I would easily do 5+21, I actually think that is slightly short on value. If we also include our least valuable future first it probably is about right.

didnt you just offer more than this for #4

I am assuming Philly will draft Bailey because the last thing they need is another guard. Charlotte will be choosing between VJ/Tre. I think both make some sense, but VJ's two-way play makes more sense next to Ball. For Utah, I just want Tre, I think he's the third best prospect in this draft behind Flagg and Harper, and I do think that Charlotte will decide that his ceiling is high enough that at 4 they have to pick him over VJ. Here they move down a spot for the better fit, but also add additional draft capital to take another swing at 21 + a 2027 1st they can use or package in a trade.

#3 is least favourable future 1st, #4 is 2nd least favourable

#3 is least favourable future 1st, #4 is 2nd least favourable

We've traded the least favorable of those 2027 1sts already, the second least favorable is, IMO, our lowest value future first : )

I think the Nets would fit in here.
Cam + 27 to SPURS
8+14+26 to 76ers
3 NETS

I don’t understand trading back given the uncertainty with Joel. Shouldn’t get cute imo.

Also given that the last thing Philly needs is another shooting guard. At 3 they can just take Ace (or Harper, if he drops) and not build in so much guard/combo-guard redundancy. Do you really want your prospect competing with McCain and Grimes (and Maxey) for minutes?

Yeah, I don’t even see what forward the team could fall in love with in the mid lottery. I think Philly should take BPA and not focus too much on fit - but that’s Bailey at 3.. that’s the fit they need.. trading back a few spots looks like Maxey back ups and Joel “replacements” (not really)..

Kon doesn’t feel like the upside play Philly needs. Newell I guess? But I think he’s there at 10-12.

Newell might be there at 20-25. I think there is going to be a lot of variance compared to expectation with where all these centers get picked because this draft is really deep with good centers who aren't clear outliers. You could basically order Maluach-Queen-Newell-Sorber-Beringer-Flemming-Wolf-Yang 10 different ways and I wouldn't be too surprised (though I'd expect Maluach to be the first or second of the group taken).

RE: mid lottery, though, maybe Carter Bryant? I think he is a 4/3 more than a 3/4, though.

I get the sentiment, but Ace scares me as well as other journalists and scouts for good reason. Still might make the most sense to draft him, but I could see a world where the Sixers trade back to take someone like Edgecombe, Tre. Wouldn't surprise me if Ace was still available past 3 either.

Does the KD upgrade over PG warrant the third pick?

I don't think they Sixers do that. They aren't sure if Embiid is even playing next year. They need to look to future until they can for sure count on Embiid.

Probably not worth the upgrade and as a Suns fan I’m probably asking for more than #3 in return. PGs contract is terrible and he and Booker have historically had beef.

As a Sixers fan, I would move #3 + PG for Zion + filler, assuming Harper doesn't magically fall to 3. I'm not over the moon for Ace or VJ.
