BOS/UTA

You’re going to hate it but it makes sense.

Utah out: Markkanen, Sexton, Kessler, Williams/Hendricks, and #21
Utah in: Tatum and Porzingis

Boston out: Tatum and Porzingis
Boston in: Markkanen, Sexton, Kessler, Williams/Hendricks, and #21

Why for Tatum: No pressure to return and can heal properly

Why for Utah: TANK and pray that Tatum is still the same guy when he returns.

Why for Boston: New owners and high payroll, they can’t afford for Tatum to be out all season. Brown has proven that he can be Batman. Markkanen is the perfect Robin. They also get a young starting center.

Boston doesn't consider this. Tatum with a blown achilles is still one of the 10 most valuable pieces in the NBA.

Financial decisions can outweigh others. We could swap out Zinger for Holiday but then some of the trade needs to be reworked.

I think we could add 6 or 7 picks and Boston would still say no.

You don't use Tatum to solve financial issues, you know this. There isn't a single premium asset in this offer. Boston is much better off just waiting for him to return and take a chance on health than lock themselves into this. Kessler has to get a new contract too or he's of limited value so this isn't even the financial panacea you are selling here.

Just a non-starter I'm afraid.

Looks familiar, although with much less draft capital heading to Boston.
