This is really a massive overpay. Even sending #5 back to SA probably isn't enough (but that's at least a real debate).

number 2 and saving almost 30 million dollars per year in salary...the Spurs are in my opinion one of the most coherent front offices in the league, which makes it even more unlikely, the Jazz will send the 5 and Kessler and I still think they say no.

I could see a three way trade.

Jazz send Lauri, #5 pick, #21 pick
Jazz receive Lillard and #2


Bucks send Giannis, Dame
Bucks receive #5, #21, Castle, Vassell, and some other picks

Spurs send #2, Cassell, Vassell, some other picks
Spurs receive Giannis and Lauri

I don’t even want to imagine how good a three man lineup of Wemby, Giannis, and Lauri would be. Lauri and Wemby can shot the three so Giannis has open lanes for days. And the defense and rebounding of the Spurs would be insane. That would be basically my dream scenario of building a team. Three gigantic and mobile players at the 3-5 spot. I think they would win a chip next year if the Spurs did this.

I guess you know, but you have to match the salaries coming in with those going out... You have the Spurs eating over 100 million and sending out less than 40 million.

I think #2/#14 for Lauri/#5 is interesting. Not sure on the SA salaries to make it work-Johnson/Barnes maybe?

PG13/#3 for Lauri/#21

Lauri Markkanen is not close to being worth the 2nd pick in the draft. Horrible value for the Spurs.

The 76ers decline. With plenty of healthy uncertainties surrounding Joel Emiid, they are far better just using the 3rd pick in the draft to select the best player available. Making any win moves would make no sense.

You didn't use enough salary to match either. So you help value by adding Vassell to clear out a major payroll hurdle for the Spurs then you have the Jazz send over additional value. Or better probably is use Castle as the primary value and send out the unwanted money and now it makes sense financially and balance wise

I don't like the target for the Spurs when they could maybe get KD cheaper, or really use #2 plus and go get Giannis. But that's how I'd make this more tenable.

No chance in hell. Jazz would need to add 5 and probably more. Lauri has negative value at this point

I have Vassell having to be in there in place of Barnes. Or at least drop the 14 for 21 swap. But mainly I think the key is the money for the Spurs.

Lauri doesn't have that kind of value.
