BOS/POR/BKN
Agreed to at draft, done in new calendar year so everyone is technically picking for everyone else blah blah
Boston trades: KP/Hauser/28
Boston gets: Williams/27
Portland trades: Ayton/Williams/#11
Portland gets: KP/Hauser/#19/#26
Brooklyn trades: #19/#26/#27
Brooklyn gets: Ayton/#11/#28
Brooklyn moves up into the lottery by taking on an expiring Ayton,
Boston saves an absolute ton of money, gets a stopgap center they are familiar with, move up one spot
Portland moves back, but picks up an extra first, but also upgrades center and gets a terrific bench shooter, and clear more wiggle room under the tax towards using the full MLE as its clear they aren't simply going to tank. If KP works out, you look at a reasonably priced extension to pair him with Clingan over his rookie deal.

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
I have no faith Porzingis would be in Portland long term and/or healthy, so for me this is mostly 11 for Hauser, 19, 26, and a small bit of savings that would likely be used on something small. The value is ok, but I think Portland is more likely to find a high quality missing piece at 11 than with any of those smaller parts.
I actually wonder if Portland would be better off cutting out Boston, and getting 2 firsts with a ton of money to see if they can do something more meaningful with that large amount of money saved.

Yeah that is an interesting idea. Same deal for Brooklyn, but Portland goes a different direction than KP/Hauser. Thoughts on what you'd want to see Portland do there?

I don’t have a specific thought, but saving $30M+ gives them a lot of room to be opportunistic.

Pass for POR. We need to be adding a star or youth when we fail to secure a real star, not diluting our best chance to secure cheap high end talent by sending out a lotto pick for later picks and expensive vets.

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
I was in on buying low on KP initially but I really dont like the guys general attitude. The Blazers team has great chemistry and is making a culture that prioritizes hustle and defense. KP coasts so, so much.
I would be tempted to do Ayton / 11 for 19 and 26 if we think a guy like Demin is sliding to 19. Then we would have a huge TPE right? And I like sitting on that and seeing what we could do w/ it come the trade deadline.

KP is so hard to value right now.
I think given the Salary saving for Boston this is not bad.
Remember we got Porzingis and a pick for Smart

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
Is it a bit light for Portland?
If KP is healthy then it’s good… but a lot of risk there. I really like guys available at 11 in this draft so maybe that’s throwing me off.

I also would probably just cut Boston out and take the huge TPE from Ayton. Would then try to utilize that as cap space to see about gaining other assets from anyone looking to shed salary.

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
Something like this is one of the good "keep Jrue" options for BOS. Still save a ton of money without forfeiting a pick to do it and duck the 2nd apron. Can't get under the tax but that's OK.
I was actually looking at Rob in KP/Hauser trade last night with DET but didn't get it fleshed out enough to post. Something like
DET in: KP, Hauser
DET out: Stewart, Fontecchio
POR in: Stewart
POR out: Rob
BOS in: Rob, Fontecchio
BOS out: KP, Hauser
I didn't get further on picks, but I think they'd be none/minimal. Not sure POR would want the long term of Stewart $ with the sale, but on court wise, I think I like it for them. Someone posted the DET side previously.
BOS doesn't quite get under the 2nd with just this though - we'd need to rehome Fontecchio - so I might like OP better.

I personally like this one better than the OP for Portland.
I'm not sure Stewart would remain in Portland very long. He's a good player, but I would think Blazers would flip him for a better fitting piece somewhere.
I wonder what Lakers would give up? Or maybe Phoenix?

I love this move for PDX assuming we can move Ayton.
Stewart is the type of twitchier, floor spacing big man I see as an ideal backup compliment to Clingan.

Portland is the worst possible destination for Porzingis. Odd trade proposal

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
#11 for #19+#26 seems like a bad move for Portland. The roster has plenty of cheap prospects. Better to gamble on a higher probability player than shotgun multiple players at this point in the rebuild.
Porzingas and Hauser have no value to Portland.
Ayton expires after next season. So, either he plays "next contract ball" and can possibly be moved for a small amount of value at the trade deadline, the Blazers retain him in the off-season at a lower price, or he simply walks in free agency. No real pressure to move him.
Now, something like #11 for #19+#26+getting out of Grant's contract piques my interest. Emphasis on contract. Grant is still a productive player that could fill a role starting on a championship tier team. He's just massively overpaid. Ayton, Simons, and Timelord expiring after next season gives Portland a lot of flexibility - especially if they can get out of Grant's contract.

Re: BOS/POR/BKN
I doubt anyone will trade for KP until they get a medical diagnosis. We’ve heard that he has constant fatigue and respiratory issues, which would be consistent with a diagnosis of long Covid. If that’s the case, we don’t even know how long it could last.

Yes. I would be more interested in this idea if it wasn't for the medical issues. Having issues breathing and conditioning because of an undiagnosed medical condition is just no good. And I wish him all the best, because I imagine that **** is scary.
