Lakers add a need center and another shooter to go around Luka/Lebron

Now I know the return is not in the ideal format for Brooklyn. Maybe needs to send LA one of their 1sts this year and have the Lakers send a distant 1st to them. Just kept it simple for here.

I'm one of KP's biggest fans, but unfortunately it's almost a guarantee that he won't be able to play in the playoffs healthy. I'd rather have Ayton.

I don't think LA would? But I feel confident Portland would swap the two if LA did prefer that. I agree the health risk is a problem with KP. But he brings the exact things they would want.

Trade for KP and Luka is out. Already been tried and didnt work. Would have to be someone else

Brooklyn can just cut ties with Martin, Timme, Davidson and free 3 roster spots and they the options to also cut out Whitehead (probs keep) Keon Johnson (keep?) and Jalen Wilson ( dunno)

Opens rooms for them to use some picks this season and helps get them tot he floor.


Boston still needs a center after this, but theoretically they have a Jrue trade that can make that happen?

I want to understand the idea. Luka and KP didnt work off floor or on floor. He doesnt bring the screens or the rolling. So basicly back to stand in the corner and shoot 3s for KP? Sounds like a disaster, but luka wouldnt extend, so lakers would probably have to trade him before season starts

You replaced Hauser and the #28 with Tillman, Davidson and a future 2nd. You have the Nets replacing Hauser's value to LAL with Clowney and redirect Knecht form the Nets to Boston.

Hauser is a 27y old wing who is passable on D and is making 40% of his 3s on high volume. He's on a long term contract making 10M a year. Him and Pritchard are the type of role players Boston has to keep to put around a core of Tatum, Brown and White.

Hachimura is a rental for Boston which makes this deal an absolute disaster.

This doesn’t meet any of the Celtics needs to reduce long term salary and reset the repeater.

Also the value isn’t fair for Brooklyn.

Would have to be a future 1st to Brooklyn. It’s hard to imagine them bringing 6 rookies into camp next year.

I don’t see using both Hauser and 28 to save $12M on KP.
They’re incentives to save more than that. I get Rui is value back, but not value that I value.

Does he though? Not exactly a strong rebounder, roll guy or reliable healthy wise. You add the current mystery illness on top of that and a previous bad relationship with Luka and lakers would be hard pressed to even trade knecht for him.

Right besides the money trading Hauser and a first rounder for Rui is brutal.

I think it does accomplish resetting the repeater. As is the Cs are right at the tax level. 400K over for 26/27 with 9 players signed. This would drop them over 10 million under with 8 players signed. They can likely sign the 26 frp, 32 this year, 2nd round pick from the Blazers in 26 and 3 more league minimum guys …. They may need another minor trade but it’s very close.

And I totally get the sentiment that Hauser and 28 is a lot of value just to save money.
