PJ Washington for what Point Guard?
It seems to me that PJ Washington is the odd man out in Dallas; plays the forward spot same as Davis & Flagg. Mavs will probably look to play Lively/Gafford a lot so Davis can be full time PF, Flagg at the 3.
Washington is a solid player and can get value, and the Mavs most obvious need is a point guard. They don't need necessarily a long-term solution but they definitely need someone to capably fill in until (if) Kyrie comes back.
Who can they get in exchange for PJ Washington straight up? Or with someone like Marshall or Naji attached if need be? Not looking to add picks or Prosper or whatever. Just get an equivalent level player who can fill in for a year or two and help steady the ship. They simply cannot be running a Dinwiddie/Exum platoon.
Could other guys be added in to make a Jrue Holiday deal?
Could something be done for Dejounte Murray? Or is his injury situation too up in the air?
Colin Sexton or Jordan Clarkson available from Utah? They'd be great stop gap guys I think.
Lonzo Ball as crazy as it sounds?

Re: PJ Washington for what Point Guard?
I really never thought of Clarkson because of how bad he was. But do you look like
Klay to “team desperate for spacing”
Third team lesser player/money to Utah
Clarkson to Dallas
Don’t know the plug in there. Or the value needed?
But that two million cut for Dallas is suddenly pretty helpful with Flagg’s salary added in.. Even Ainge can’t be asking for much for Clarkson..
For PJ.. I think it’s aiming for Monk or Sexton. Coby seems to be valued higher

I would prefer PJ to stay...what about this 3-team thing (I don't know who adds and who adds)
Smart MAVS
Gafford WARRIORS
Kuminga/Powell WIZARDS

Mavs have no path to go below the 1st apron and to be honest it's an awful deal for Dallas.

I'm thinking ether Collin Sexon/Anferee Simons for PJ Washington straight up or Coby White for PJ Washington and draft capital.

I have Washington as clearly more valuable than Clarkson and Sexton. Clarkson is probably negative value. But I don't have Utah wanting to pay for that difference, so it needs aa third team.
I think Chicago may be the right target. Ayo + Carter feels like a good enough stopgap?

I think it should be Gafford for what PG?
Dallas can use other pieces to replace Gaff on the bench. I don't think they could replace PJ as easily

LAL makes sense. Or a 3 team deal with ORL sending KCP to LAL and Vincent/Kleber to Utah + a 2nd from somewhere for taking the extra money.

What about Jrue? He seems like such a great fit

How so? Massively overpaid at this juncture, lost a great deal of his defensive versatility

Yeah, Orlando is a good choice.
I feel like Dallas owes a second or a Prosper or something here? (I don’t think so but trying to look at it without Dallas fandom?)

Not really a PG though. And what Dallas needs is someone who can create shots until Kyrie comes back. Now Smart could still be a fit in Dallas, but he's not worth as much as PJ Washington any longer and Washington gains no value from Washington. But Smart to pair with a cheap offensive PG(White or Sexton?) sure, much like the Jrue talk only a lessor version and shorter commitment.
But not the answer for this thread.

Any interest in a PJ+Lively for Reaves deal?

Not at all. Feels like a clear overpay plus it fills one whole but opens up new ones. I like Reaves, but it would be for one or the other. And would probably have to be Lively because Reaves is worth more than Washington.
But it matters not because Niko cannot go back to LA, because all he would hear was why didn't you just get him in the Luka deal.

The only rationale for even proposing that is LA already fleeced Nico before, so why not again

Re: PJ Washington for what Point Guard?
Signing CP3 seems like the "easy" option. He's old, but he's still been quite effective during the regular season.
