Massive Dal-Orl-Chi (Includes AD)

Value may be way off, while not as bas as Nico Harrison, I've never quite made a proposal that was applauded for all involved. But here goes nothing, I want Nico and AD gone. Again, required caveat Nico gets deservedly fired
Agreed to on draft night, executed after 7/1
Dallas trades: Anthony Davis
Dallas Receives: Jalen Suggs, Zach Collins, 45th pick in 2025 draft, Chi '27 FRP (top 5 protected)
Chi trades: Coby White, Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, 12th pick, 45th pick in 2025 draft, Chi '27 FRP (top 5 protected
Chi receives: Anthony Davis, 15th pick (via Orl)
ORL trades: Jalen Suggs, 15th pick
Orl receives: Coby White, Kevin Huerter, 12th pick (via Chi)
The why
Chi gets the best player in the deal, and a hometown hero. With Vuc and Smith, AD wouldn't have to play C. Buzelis can start at the 3 and form a big lineup that can make some noise in the East. Cap experts correct me if I'm wrong, but even with adding more $, Bulls still should have room to sign FA/improve the roster.
Orl gets much needed spacing. Coby White's new deal would likely be smaller than Suggs' current one, so they should save as well. White and Black would make a nice complimentary backcourt with Paolo and Wagner, not just because it was a hit Michael Jackson song. Also move up 3 spots in this year's draft.
Dal writes a wrong and sheds some salary. AD will never be embraced by Mavs nation, mostly Nico's fault, but also his entitlement to not play the 5 and injury history. Suggs can temporarily hold down the point until Kyrie returns, and fits like a glove with Ky when he returns. Suggs has a lot of Kidd in him, so would theoretically be a joyous marriage. He's also friends with Flagg which is icing on the cake. Dallas gets a pick they should have gotten in the Luka deal, and can hopefully use the 2nd rounder on Ryrese Procter. Dallas should then trade Collins or Gaff for lead guard depth.
Flame or if this is salvageable, please feel free to offer adjustments.

So Dallas go from: Kyrie, Christie, Flagg, Davis, Lively -- Dinwiddie, Klay, Naji, PJ, Gafford
To: Kyrie, Suggs, Klay, Flagg, Lively -- Dinwiddie, Christie, Naji, PJ, Gafford
I don't get why Dallas would take themselves from legit contender to middling playoff squad?

I think this deal sells low on AD, but I'd still do it, but I'd insist on CHI paying to dump Collins somewhere with POR pick.
ORL may reject this though, even w/o sending a pick.

If you think AJ, Boozer, Peterson, Ament are as good as people whisper then you take the down year and tell Suggs/Kyrie to recover as slowly as they want..

I think Orlando just cuts Chicago out here. They can figure out their point guard situation after they add AD..

Were you guys legit contenders with AD and his constant injuries? I think the Mavs would be better and younger after this deal. Plus more financial flexibility

Yea I didn't want to be a Homer, not sure what Chi would pay. Also figured we could use Collins or Gaff for more guard depth

I was thinking about this, but AD being a diva not wanting to play the 5 made me pause since they have Paoloat pf

I like Suggs, but if that's all AD returns, I'm crossing my fingers on health and seeing what can be done with he and Kyrie. I guess if Kyrie opts out and leaves in free agency, maybe Dallas pivots and takes whatever they can get, but I'd have to believe they could do better.

Yeah, I think they’d have to try though. They’d keep 1 of Goga/WCJ and tell AD he’s going to be a center about 50% of the team pending match ups?
Not an Orlando fan but I can see..
WCJ, Isaac, KCP, Suggs, Cole out
AD and “Monk” in
Leading to them being safely under the tax and a good enough roster to truly contend next season if either of Wagner/Paolo take a step. After next season the money looks really terrible, but maybe worth paying more than they ever have for a year if that team can stay healthy.. then probably move on from AD and get back under the apron (or even tax) for 2027-2028 season..

Where would kcp be going? I wouldn't want him here with klay Christie and naji. Plus I think klay would fit in a potential starting lineup if Suggs/flagg/pj/lively

Didn’t really think of a trade, but just following up on AD to Orlando spin. If they’re just getting Coby, I think they try to pay more/different and keep Suggs.
I think if Dallas is tanking, they do your OP.
Chicago seems to get great value really, though they should obviously be tanking (but they won’t).. I think 15th needs to go to Dallas.

As soon as I saw massive I knew AD would be coming to the Bulls for a whole lot. No AD isn't longing to return to CHI, he never mentions his old hometown. Huerter and Miller proved to be very capable role players fort he Bulls, they're both expiring so should reasonable contracts could be agreed on they're sold young vets. shipping them and White puts all the Bulls eggs in AD's basket and if he's not the LAL answer he sure doesn't help the Bulls by eliminating all their flexibility at the cost of moving down 3 slots this draft.
Just cut the Bulls out.

OP is DOA from ORL perspective...but the idea of AD in ORL between Paolo & Franz is amazing, but then ORL remembers...
1.AD crying about playing his correct position
2. how much fun it was wondering when Isaac will play for years and then multiplying that by AD's max salary
3. and, to be fair, understanding that Suggs + doesn't get ORL AD if they did decide to roll the dice on #1 and #2
AD is Soooo Gooood, but so bad too. Oh well. It would basically leave ORL with enough salary space for Cory Joseph and Jett Howard in the backcourt

*I'd prefer to take a crack at Kyrie when he's ambulatory...he and Suggs would make for an amazingly balanced backcourt...but then again, he's had a few "moments" of his own that I might be conveniently forgetting. I knew his Dad from Boston U., so it's a soft spot for me.

A whole lot is a bit much, no? I think almost everyone has said Chi isn't paying enough to get AD. And who in the world is Miller? Brad Miller from decades ago?

Suggs is the centerpiece to acquire Davis like talent, but Orlando conveniently ends up with an expiring Coby White..

Mavs need to rebuild. I’d like to see AD, Klay and Kyrie all gone next off season.
They aren’t even close to contending in the West.

Would be more than happy to deal with Orl directly. But figured AD's diva like stance on playing center would thwart Orl from wanting him since they have Paolo & Franz
