Sixers trade: Paul George, Jared McCain, Eric Gordon, #3
To the Rockets for:
Fred VanVleet, Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore, #10
Rockets reasoning: Rockets could use a wing that can score in big situations and PG can still be that guy while not being relied on as the #1 to carry the team all season. They also get to draft Ace Bailey (presumably) to develop him into that guy long term. Sheppard and McCain take over the PG role for VanVleet. Sheppard/Mcain-Green-PG-Jabari-Segun
Sixers reasoning: Getting out of the PG contract is reason #1 and #2. Having to give up McCain sucks, but Eason, Whitmore and pick #10 is still a solid way to build around Maxey. Plus the cap flexibility after the season will obviously help long term.

Re: Paul George to Houston
Is PG even playable? I assume if he was physically able, PHI would still be happy to have him and not pay to unload him. Prime PG was a force but that contract is murder and I thought he wasn't even playing...tank "rest" maybe?

None of this makes any sense for the Sixers either. You can’t make a win now trade with Embiid’s health and the last thing you want to do is cripple the value of 3OA. Likewise you don’t want to lose the extra rookie contract time on 3OA and McCain at the expense of assets you’d have to pay sooner.
I’ve loved Eason since college, but Maxey + Eason + Whitmore + 10 is the most play in treadmill core imaginable. You’re the Heat, but without Spo and the voodoo.

Re: Paul George to Houston
We have salary issues of our own, and as well as prospects we don't have time to play.
This just doubles down on current issues.
You should offer that to Phx, Sac, Was, Utah, Tor, etc.

Trading players whose value is at a nadir doesn't work, because one team is either over or underpaying.
