Clev sends Garland to Miami
Clev gets CWhite and Collins from Chi and JJJ from Miami

Miami sends Rozier and Love to Chi, along with #20 and a 2029 unprotected 1st (or 2030, if Miami doesn't send a 2027 1st to Char) and JJJ to Clev
Miami gets Garland

Chi sends White and Collins to Clev
Chi gets Rozier/Love/#20 and a 2029 unprotected 1st

Clev saves a bunch of $ and gets depth. White is a super-elite 6th man for them, JJJ adds hustle off the bench and Collins is a very good backup C
Mitchell/White/Porter
Strus/White/Okoro
Hunter/Okoro/Wade
Mobley/JJJ
Allen/Collins

Miami gets their PG and has a very solid lineup of
Garland/Mitchell
Herro/Highsmith
Wiggins/Robinson
Bam/Anderson
Ware/Jovic
That's a VERY balanced lineup to build with, and could be a threat in the East next year

Bulls take a step back and build for the future.
Ball/Ayo/JCarter
Huerter/Rozier/Terry
Giddey/Phillips
Matas/PWill
Vuc/Smith
Plus #12 and #20
I still like them trading the Port pick for Dieng and the #24 after this too (saves OKC $ and roster spots and moves a pick to the future)

I have garland worth more than white. White is not worth 2 1sts that includes an unprotected future 1st

MAYBE Chi throws in the Port pick, but they're taking on bad contracts in Rozier and Love (expiring of course, but totally negative). Collins is a solid center-we like him and he'd help Clev
I thought of a twist with Vuc going to Clev, and Allen going to Chi, with picks moving differently

Vuc would work next to Mobley
Bulls could use Allen's rim protection

collins is not solid, he was a salary dump by san antonio. he's also negative and not worth his salary if you are going to call rozier and love negative like that. white is not worth dead expirings and 2 1sts that include a future unprotected

Rozier has better counting stats than Collins even though he hasn't worked out well in Miami. It is, indeed, ridiculous to call one a bad contract and the other a valuable asset when both are overpaid and both are guys another team will be acquiring with their noses held.

As for the trade, I'm sorry, I don't see giving up a 2029 unprotected pick for Garland. If we're giving up an unprotected pick like that we need to be getting a better player who's actually going to lead our franchise, and yes I'm aware we'll have to give up considerably more to get a player like that. I'm saying we shouldn't waste that resource.

No chance for Cleveland. Collins and JJJ are junk. White needs a new deal. "Savings"...

You want the Bulls to start taking steps back, the Bulls don't show any signs they're willing to follow your advice. That's why awful trades like this keep coming to you. They give up two useful expiring contracts, if they move Vucevic we're looking at 2 starters. For another expiring in Rozier who is no part of the future for any team, an old and expiring Kevin Love who is a 12 minute a game guy for a contender but excess baggage behind Buzelis on a a young rebuilding team. #20 wn't get on the floor at any position even behind #12 and today's high school kid that will come along 4 years from now, that's a real asset

I have Clev as "win-now" AND they need to save $. I know Garland has more value than White, but JJJ is an ok bench piece, and Collins is a solid backup center. It could be changed to Huerter, if Clev wants, but I figure they want a big after adding White to Mitchell and Straus.
While White is no Caruso, he's better on defense than Garland and is a good scorer. Of course, he could start and Staus could come off the bench

Collins to Huerter is like Saltines vs light salt Saltines. No one is being induced to make a trade by Saltines. You have to listen to what people are telling you; Garland is worth more than Coby White and flotsam. Coby White isn't worth an unprotected first and another first. Miami isn't going to give up two first for a guy who can't be their best player. You should attempt to restructure.
