CELTICS RETOOL

BOS OUT: Porzingis, D. White, J. Holiday, P. Pritchard, S. Hauser
BOS IN: J. Isaac, P. Williams, Nurkic, #7, #12
The idea is to keep (and rest) both Brown (surgery needed?) and Tatum through the 2025/26 and send away everybody else for draft capital.

ORL OUT: J. Isaac, #16
ORL IN: J. Holiday, P. Pritchard (TPE), S. Hauser (TPE)
Orl fills the need to improve its backcourt, 3s shooting

CHI OUT: P. Williams, #12
CHI IN: D. White
Bulls dump PW, get an elite defensive guard and 3point shooter

NOP OUT: Z. Williamson, #7
NOP IN: Porzingis. G. Williams, #4
Porzingis is back from a 20ppg season and would be a great upgrade at center. Current illness seems not to take long time for recovery. Pelicans also trade up 3 spot in this year draft

CHA OUT: Nurkic, G. Williams, #4
CHA IN: Z. Williamson, #16
Hornets bet on Williamson health by trading down 12 spot in the draft.

the abive trade could be brocken down in 3 separate trades:
1st trade
BOS IN: J. Isaac, #16
ORL IN: J. Holiday, P. Pritchard (TPE), S. Hauser (TPE)

2nd trade
BOS IN: P. Williams, #12
CHI IN: D. White

3rd trade
BOS IN: #7
NOP IN: Porzingis, G. Williams, #4
CHA IN: Z. Williamson, #16 (from BOS via ORL)

How does Boston end up with 2 lotto picks while sending out Terrible contracts?

The value to ORL is insanely good...it would also vault them into the 2nd Apron. Value to others notwithstanding, ORL says "YES" and immediately starts looking to dump decent players for future cap survival. Didn't see Pritchard coming - that's a game changer. Jrue I could certainly debate in my head.

Financially this wouldn't come close to working from the Orlando side.

The Magic are over the cap. Isaac's contract drops from $25M to $15M on July 1 which is when I assume this deal would have to be officially consumated.

Holiday, Pritchard and Hauser combined make $50.9M. The Magic don't have a TPE of that size, nor would they take on that much salary anyway.

That is awful for the Pelicans. Porzingis has no value whatsoever...get real.

They'd be crazy to move Pritchard...his deal is so good and he's really taken a leap. I don't think he starts for a champion team - but he's the best backup PG now and better than a lot of starters. Hauser is much more replaceable and his big raise makes him a strong candidate to move on. Jrue doesn't bring back much, so I guess your thought is that Pritchard is the bait for such a gigantic financial commitment (Puzzle?) for ORL.

It makes no sense for Chicago either, why do they need a 30 year old PG?

I think Chicago is the wrong team for White, but he has more value than that.

And Orlando could pay for Pritchard and Hauser, but they really just can’t afford Jrue’s contract after this coming season.

If NOP is moving on from Zion and CLT’s offer is the best on table, they’d find a way to get a mid first and not lose out on their lottery pick.

The Bulls would need to spend the rest of the summer trading away guards
D White
C White
Giddey resigned
Ball
Huerter
Dosunmu
Carter
Terry
could cheaply bring back
THT
Tre Jones

and they don;t have a PF to come in off the bench behind Buzelis while having no starting SF
and you think they're better off with no #12 pick

you included the Bulls when you shouldn't have

it worked according to https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machineand it was done on season 2024/25
i guess the magic could use some of its exceptions to absorbe Hauser/Pritchard salaries
but maybe you are right

You are sending guys you don’t want to pay and expecting lotto picks, good contracts and good fits on talent in return. Not happening.

im not so sure. Thats about $34mil/yr for 3 years for a 35 yr old, drastically declined Jrue. And I dont think he can still be the primary ball handler anymore.

The Rockets should be able to outbid for Derrick White at that price

It includes Pritchard & Houser!...that's a LOT of good cheap stuff that, imo, offsets quite a bit of the risk of Jrue (who's only somewhat of a risk himself)

Why isn't Orlando just getting Derrick White here at this evaluation? 16 expiring filler and another decent future 1st (maybe some 2nds to reroute some salary too) would be way better than 12/PW for Boston.

Agreed. The last thing ORL is an old defensive pg. ORL needs solid shooting from that spot.

Danny Ainge doesn’t GM the Celtics anymore and no team is Brooklyn taking non-star talent or washed talent for lotto picks.
