HOU/IND

Post#1 » by spankz141 » Thu May 22, 2025 2:26 am

Rockets In: #23 and Jarace Walker
Indiana In: #10 and Cam Whitmore

Rockets trade down and add to their young core

Indiana adds a lottery pick or asset to flip and a young scorer with potential to come off the bench.

I don't think Walker has more value than Whitmore.

Maybe Walker has more value than Whitmore if Houston really liked him coming out, but I think odds are Whitmore carries more value league wide and to Houston. I don't think this works for Houston.

He absolutely doesn't have enough value to get you to 10 even if you don't take Whitmore. Pretty big overshoot here.

How about if the picks were removed....Cam Whitmore and or Jock Landale for Walker?

If Houston prefers getting a forward to having a guard Whitmore-Walker makes sense.

Not sure how Walker would have playing time in Houston unless some other moves were also involved, at best he's slotting into the Jae'Sean Tate minutes? (who only played less than 600 this year and that's with both Tari and Jabari Smith getting hurt for a bit.) and even if they value him more than Whitmore, the difference is certainly not 10 to 23.

I'd say Houston actually needs the theoretical skills of Cam Whitmore more than Walker right now, though neither have really realized it often enough.

I’d Eason or Jabari go in a Booker/sg deal, then I would be all over adding Walker for Whitmore.

Absolutely no interest for Indy.

Walker may not hold the trade value in the OP, but he’s coming along very well for Indy. I think, with the very young age and long projection for Walker and his growth when he was drafted, Indy just may not consider moving him until after next year at the earliest?

As for Whitmore, he’s a scorer, but he’s far from what Indy needs or wants. And if he wants more of a leading role, he definitely won’t get that in Indy.

I feel like Whitmore and Matthurin are kind of the same thing in a different font so idk why Indiana would really want two of the athletic shot taker that doesn't pass guys

Hard fit, value is wrong, Walker does not have the value that Whitmore has(not saying the fit is better for what the pacers need).

Cant see the use Houston would have for Walker too considering they are in win now mode, if fit made sense for both teams, sure, but yeah, makes little sense
