Giannis to Rockets

Let's just do the obvious trade.

Bucks get Amen+Sengun+Brooks

Rockets get Giannis

Rockets have FVV, Green, Tari, Gainnis, Jabari -- Reed, Cam, Adams plus #10 in draft and MLE.
Rockets would retain their picks and the ability to improve.

Bucks get two true foundation pieces so they can stay competitive and rebuild without bottoming out.

Rockets are trading their only good players here. I think they would rather part with picks than both Amen and Sengun.

FVV, Green, Tari, Jabari
I thought these were seen as good players?

Bucks only bottom out of they get their picks back from Pelicans for next couple years. Otherwise Bucks are looking to still be competitive.

In this trade the Rockets don't lose any picks for Giannis, meaning they can trade the picks for other pieces to fit around Giannis.

I would imagine the Bucks would hang up immediately when they hear there are 0 (ZERO!) picks attached.

Don't see Hou giving up both Amen and Sengun in a deal, nor would Giannis want to go to the team without at least one of them there.

As a Bucks fan I know Houston said Amen if off limits. So here's as a Bucks fan what I would realistically want in a Rockets package with the Kings in the deal also.

Houston gets Giannis, Kuzma, and Connaughton. Giannis will help propel Houston to a conference favorite. Kuzma I think would be the 6th man, and Connaughton adds shooting.

Kings get: Portis, AJ Green . Portis could start at the 4.

Bucks get: Sengun, Sheppard, Smith Jr., Brooks, M Monk, #10, 27/29 1st (Suns/Houston), & 31 1st (Houston).

Bucks regroup picks and young more athletic players. Their starting 5 could be: Sheppard, Monk, Brooks, Smith Jr., Sengun with the #10 pick being one of the 1st guys off the bench.

They should. I don't see an Amen+Giannis fit honestly. Nor do I see it with Sengun.

Modern NBA can't have 2-3 bad perimeter shooters.

If the Rockets offer this, they get Giannis. I don't think they offer both Amen and Sengun though, surely Bucks ask for that but gets rejected and Rockets counter with Sengun + Jalen Green + Cam Whitmore and picks, and they end up agreeing in something like like Sengun + Jabari Smith / Tari Eason (one fo them) + Sheppard + picks.

Rockets would need to add picks too, not running a charity. You pay to play, Giannis is a top 15 all time perennial MVP candidate. Really no interest in Rockets other young players. Don’t like it then go find another MVP to trade for, good luck with that.

Green, Sheppard, the others really have no value to the Bucks as roleplayer upside on bad rebuilding team with no picks. They need building blocks for the next decade not just rando young roleplayers, honestly I think Amen & Sengun are complimentary players still with Sengun probably not being a guy you can win with in the modern NBA so it’s not like either of these guys are #1s.

Are the Rockets a better situation after all this? Maybe not but the Bucks aren’t handing out rings, that’s not our problem.

Bucks need multiple draft picks to sell to their fanbase. That's just the nature of dealing superstars.

Here's how I would design it:

- One of Amen/Sengun
- '25 1st (#10), '27 PHX 1st, '28 HOU 1st
- One of Tari/Jabari.
- Whitmore
- Reed

Let's assume Milwaukee wants Sengun, based on the fact that he's an established all star at 22. And Jabari, since he's a former top 3 pick.

Houston is:

Fred /
Jalen / Amen
Brooks / Tari
Giannis /
Adams / Londale

That's the top 8. Is that enough to beat the Spurs/OKC? I don't think so, tbh. But they would have cap space to reload next year after Fred expires.

Can’t give up both Amen and Sengun. Need to pair Giannis with one of them.

My stance has always been I like Giannis and I like him in Houston, but the price is just too high for deal to be worth it for the Rockets. He's a superstar, a top 5 player in the league currently, still right in the middle of his prime. You don't get those kinds of players without giving up an arm and a leg.

The problem with giving up an arm and a leg is you're gutting the existing roster to get Giannis, would the remaining roster be favourites or even contenders? If you're trading for Giannis, the idea surely must be that you want to win titles right now. If that isn't going to be the case, then the whole thing ends up being utterly pointless.

So for me, since I can't see a way that both satisfies the Bucks and Rockets and also leaves the Rockets as a clear contender post trade, I think Bucks and Rockets are not good trade partners.

People need to stop with this.

AMEN THOMPSON WILL NOT BE TRADED.

Sengun? Perhaps. Amen Thompson? No way. No way.

People will be allowed to continue to speculate as they wish, not as you try to dictate. So sorry.

And you will forgive some of us for thinking Amen Thompson doesn't deserve to be quite so untouchable when the return is....checks notes... Giannis.

Doesn't mean Houston would trade him. Doesn't mean you have to support it.

But we have way too many posters trying to dictate that discussion only matches their personal feelings. And no amount of yelling at us is going to change their right to speculate.

The only way this works for Houston would be if they could then flip Green plus the pick trove for another legit superstar. Also Brooks probably needs to stay, to compliment remaining roster.

FVV / Reed
???? / Whitmore
Brooks / Eason
Giannis /
Jabari / (Maluach?)

But yea, word is still that Houston has Amen as untouchable and rightly so.

Of course. He's an amazing young player and a part of the core. Houston would never publicly(or leak) say we are open to moving him.

Now might they trade him for SGA if given the chance? I am going to say yes. Joker? As fast as humanly possible. Giannis? You say no, I say they should at least have the conversation.

But they aren't ever going to say otherwise until the deal is done. Then they will say man it hurts giving up a guy like Amen, but oh yeah look at how much better our team is today with Giannis.

I don't know why the rockets would prefer to give up their two best players over all their picks, I woudln't say this trade makes you an obvious title favorite

also the bucks say no, this just turns us into a **** version of the rockets, with no picks

ya'll are one of the teams that can make a compelling offer if he's truly disgruntled but neither side would want the deal to look like this
