Cleveland/Sacremento

Post#1 » by bgrep14 » Fri May 23, 2025 4:32 pm

Cavs: Garland, Allen, Okoro, and Strus

Sacramento: Sabonis, Valenciunas, Ellis, and Murray

Cavs: Make some changes to the roster to get bigger and open up 21 million in space to sign Jerome, Merrill, and someone like a Malcolm Brogdon or do a follow up move to trade for a more established point guard. This trade gets cavs 14 million under the 2nd apron.

Sacramento: Get players that can elevate their team that are young and play alongside derozan and lavine. Kings will still be 1M under the luxury tax.

Ellis and Murray are the last two guys I want to move, especially if it's a move to try and win with Demar and Lavine.

This would also still leave us with no 4 and no depth behind Allen.

Assuming we can move Demar in a later trade -

Monk/Sabonis/Spurs 27 1st for Okoro/Allen/Garland

Cavs end up with
Sabonis/
Mobley/Wade
Hunter/Tyson
Strus/Monk
Mitchell/Jerome

If Kings can flip demar to Dallas for something like Naji, Martin then this is fine. Still suck, but I guess the defense would be okay.

The Cavs aren't doing that.

Makes sense. Kings shouldn't do the OP. We should be moving away from a LaVine/Demar no defense core, not trading our two best defenders to go all in on a bunch of iso scorers.

Could make it a 3 teamer with Portland and move Monk and Strus as part of the trade to Portland for Grant.

Cavs: Garland, Allen, Strus, and Okoro
Cavs: Sabonis, Murray, Ellis, and Valenciunas

Portland: Grant
Portland: Monk and Strus

Sacramento: Sabonis, Ellis, Murray, Valenciunas, and Monk
Sacremento: Garland, Allen, Grant, and Okoro

Allen
Grant
Derozan
Lavine
Garland

Take Murray out of the op and add the Spurs 27 1st and I would do it. I wouldn't like it but I would do it.

That's a gift to Portland at the Kings expense. Grant has negative trade value. None of these trades are legal. They're not particularly close either. Both the Kings and Blazers are well over the cap and the Cavs can't aggregate unless they're below the 2nd apron after the trade. The Cavs won't even know how much salary they need to save until there's a resolution on Merrill and Ty.

It's a fantasy board so enjoin, but the Cavs trading 3 starters and a role player, and cutting another two role players lose, from a 64 win team doesn't sound like the direction Altman is going in.

Says it's legal in the Fanspo trade machine. If there that far off in value then Portland can send Duop Reath to Kings or send Okoro instead of Monk.

I don't think CLE can do the OP trade over the 2nd apron. Is this getting them under it somehow?

It's also a LOT of change for a team that was pretty good last year. I tried to slim it down in a sensible way, but Sabonis is just a little too pricy for me to come up with something that i liked for CLE.

This is gross. The plan again should be to get away from LaVine/Demar not Keon/Murray.

Totally agree. If you’re moving Murray, Detroit would certainly be interested :D

But you shouldn’t. Bad enough that you ended up w Lavine already.
