Lakers get: Porzingis
Lakers send: Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, Jarred Vanderbilt, two seconds.
Why for LA? Gamble on Porzingis' health coming back while trading away three players that aren't valuable to them but are valuable to Boston as they need these guys to dump into various trade exceptions. Even if Porzingis doesn't work out, he will be more appealing as matching salary than these three are due to Porzingis being fully expiring while Vanderbilt has money left on his deal.
Jazz get: Two seconds from Lakers, Jarred Vanderbilt
Jazz send: Use of MLE on absorbing Vanderbilt's contract.
Why for Utah? In for a long-haul tank so might as well take a small but multi year deal for a couple of picks.
Wizards get: One second from Boston, Maxi Kleber.
Wizards send: Use of MLE on absorbing Kleber's contract.
Why for Wizards? Space for picks.
Hornets get: One second from Boston, Gabe Vincent.
Hornets send: Use of MLE on absorbing Vincent's contract
Why for Hornets? Space for picks.
Celtics get: $30m in cap savings
Celtics send: Porzingis, two seconds
Why for Celtics? Dump Porzingis to save a ton of money.
So I go back and forth a lot on how much compensation the Jazz, Wizards, and Hornets would need to take on these deals. This feels like the low end of it? I could see each of the three tanking teams needing one extra pick to absorb this salary. Boston has 28 and 32 and can probably turn those into 5-7 future seconds that they could use to make this deal happen even if extra compensation is required.
I have no idea what Luka and KP's current relationship is like and that would obviously matter a lot in a trade.
