Zion to Brooklyn

Post#1 » by nolaPELSfan » Sun May 25, 2025 9:54 pm

Zion, Karlo, Hawk
for
Cam Johnson, Nic Claxton, 8, 19, 26, 27, 36

7/Herb/Murphy/Cam/8
CJ/DJM/26/19/27
36, Elf, Jose, Boston, Reeves

NOLA does it to reset to timeline from Zion's. Brooklyn does it to get in the game like EA sports.

Its a lot but it's not the worst. Its Cam, Clax and punting on one draft, though it is a ton of capital, but they still have all their ample future capital. They can then be huge players in free agency this year too.

Brooklyn's GM is Sean Marks. No way he even considers this.

Not even close.

The Nets would be insane to consider this trade.

The Nets do not control their 2027 first rounder.

Trading away their two best players and all of their first rounders this year for an injury prone Zion to show for it is a horrible outcome.

Kyrie/Zion/Lebron/Naz

If they could pull something like that off its worth it. It's Brooklyn, they gotta dream big, they're a destination.

Huge overpay for player with a laundry list of problems.

Awful for Brooklyn. Zion isn't worth half of this.

Zion or no Zion, I still say go the free agency route and trade a lot of that draft capital for a 3rd star. Build on the fly, and don't use all the picks either way.

Zion might have been worth this in 2022. In 2025 he is unfortunately not worth close to this.

Cam, Clax, #8 & #19 for Zion, Karlo & Hawkins?

or

Clax, Clowney, Whitehead, #8 & #19 for Zion?

How are you dividing 130M amongst those 4 players

Zion for 8 and filler feels about right for his value now imo

That would be Zion for Claxton, Clowney, Whitehead & #8.
Might be fair, but feels too light to be worth it for NOLA.

Zion's value is probably low enough at this point that it doesn't make a lot of sense to trade Zion unless the front office just wants him gone tbh. I can't see them being thrilled with any return they get

Yeah I can't see the Pels and Nets dealing with each other then, in light of all this, unless its indirectly on a multi team deal. So not a 2 team trade but maybe on something like this i had posted elsewhere:

Nuggets: Derrick White, Jrue Holiday

Celtics: Jamal Murray, Zion Williamson, Herb Jones

Nets: Payton Pritchard, DaRon Holmes, Porzingis, Michael Porter Jr., DEN '31 1st

Pels: Jalen Brown, Celtics' #28 & #32

No from Brooklyn. Zion intrigues me, but only at a bargain rate. This is paying thru the nose. I would not give Johnson and a 1st for him. He's a fun reclamation project, but I'm not surrendering ANY serious assets for him.

With all the space Brooklyn has, I could see some version of Zion for picks. That could be a reasonable gamble for BKN depending on the pick package, and NOP ends up with picks and a huge TPE.

But BKN simply doesn't' need to send out salary when their 2025-26 cap sheet has them under $64M total for 8 players
