#7 is too much. This is 2 1sts, I'd bet they don't get anymore than 2 1st for Lauri elsewhere, except in a case like this since Dejounte has 3 years and expirings would be preferred, so there should be a third 1st added probably. I don't think Lauri gets you 7, let alone 7 & a future Pels 1st.

Honestly. I was wondering if i should anyway and almost put a 2nd instead; was trying to give something for Dejounte, but it shouldve been lotto protected at worst or just a 2nd.

We disagree. I don't see any between if New Orleans is sending Murray here. If the filler were CJ and Olynyk maybe there is something with the original deal.

If Dejounte is going out in the deal I do this year's pick plus the Indy pick and call it a day as Pels fan. Values change but if we could have gotten that deal for Ingram at the beginning of the year we would have been over the moon. And yeah had a disappointing year but the opportunity to pair Zion with that kind of shooting is too good to pass up. The top 6 guys fit well together in a variety of ways, you get Zion insurance for those 20-30 games he wont play, and at crunch time you get to put Lauri at the 5 and space out the court in a way that Zion has never seen.

If anything I think we will miss olynyk and I wish there was a way to make this deal in and keep him. Also this trade puts a bunch of pressure on Missi to hold up at the 5. Otherwise I love this trade again think Lauri is worth the top 10 pick.

Just for additional context, CJ, Trey and Larui were 3 of the top 20 three point attempt guys in the lague last year. That's just an insane amount of floor spacing for what is one of the top 5 rim attackers in the game. If the defense can hold up, that lineup would just break defenses.

Complaining about Lauri's contract while glossing over the fact that you're dumping a much worse contract in Dejounte Murray is pretty laughable.

NOLA has either got to give up the #7 pick this year or sub out CJM for Murray.

I don't think it would get us #2 nor do I care about 'arguably better' rotation players. I care about getting appropriate value for Lauri and I think he is worth the 7th pick on his own. We might not be able to get exactly that and there is always some give and take, but adding that much value to him just isn't worth it.

You and Danny Ainge both i guess. His value isn't a early-mid lotto pick straight up though, I'm pretty sure at least. We would have seen it happen sometime because he was worth more previously, as is the case with a lot of quasi-stars coming up on the middle of their careers. We saw it with Ingram and we're seeing it with Sabonis and Zion and Lauri. So i still think those teams would need to get a little creative to get a real nice pick out of those, take bad salary and whatnot.
