Draft Night: Nets - Raptors

Brooklyn Nets get:
RJ Barrett
9th Overall Draft Pick
39th Overall Draft Pick
Toronto Raptors get:
Nic Claxton
19th Overall Draft Pick
26th Overall Draft Pick
27th Overall Draft Pick
2026 Atlanta Hawks Second Round Draft Pick
2026 Brooklyn Nets Second Round Draft Pick
-Nets consolidate and use Claxton to move gain a second top 10 pick in this draft.
-This rebalances the Raptors roster very nicely and gives them a really deep team all around.
19, 26 and 27 probably gets into the back end of the lottery so I had Claxton + 14 = to Barrett + 9 is the value logic.

No interest in trading a mid 1st worth of value for a back up C.
Raptors have no need to pay to dump RJ (for this year at least)

I don't think Toronto should invest 25 million in what would be their backup center (who also brings nothing new) and also demote their pick... If I were the Nets, I'd be trying to move up, consolidating picks, although I don't see them moving up more than one spot. 8+26+36 for 7... I'd do this to select Fears... Then use 19+27 for a high-potential future pick, maybe Denver 31? Denver could use those picks in different trades to turn them (Nnaji/Saric, etc.) into useful players who can help them now.

Maybe if Toronto actually looked like playoff contenders you’d think 40 million for 48 million of good center play is worth investing in..
But that would need to be decided once you see Barnes/Ingram/IQ excelling together not on draft night imo.

Yeah to echo others, Raps would decline because it's way too much money invested in C's.
Rj for a 3+D guy makes way more sense and the Raps could trade someone like Dick or Ochai for the younger, cheaper, backup C type.
