This is probably a long shot

I'm curious to know what's Day'Ron Sharpe's worth is?

Knecht/Len

for

Day'Ron Sharpe.

Why for Nets, they already have Claxton on a large contract, they get a sharp shooter in Knecht and a back up big in len on a small contract.

Why for Lakers, get a much needed center who could be a solid young big for the future and a good back up until they find the right center.

Lakers are likely going to have 1st apron issues with a SNT. Likely need to send a guy like Kleber out to stay clear of it.

Brooklyn should be cool with taking back Kleber to get Knecht. One year not a bad number, a fine vet to have around or use as matching salary later. Still have two cheap years of Knecht.

I think they would have to dump some salary still to stay under. So likely cost more than just a 2nd. I would not give up on Dalton for this, but maybe they have soured on him to only value him as 2nds now.

I agree Brooklyn should if they like him at all, but IMO I wouldn't want to use Knecht here from the Lakers. I like Sharpe some but not sure he is the PNR partner I would choose for Luka.

Yes Lakers will be a 2nd apron team, but they will be making other trades as well to not have to worry about 2nd apron, they won't be making just 1 trade.

Nets do have to dump a player for It to work though.

I always do my trades on spotrac, just a matter of whether teams want said players and their worth etc.

Oh I wouldn't either. Just following up on the path the OP set us down. I'm still for Knecht/Kleber/Vincent for Claxton. More proven player who gives Luka a lob threat and he was a decent defender back when Brooklyn was trying to win.

If that's all it takes to get Claxton and no pics, I'd be ok doing this, I just figured Nets would want a pic of some sort for Claxton or someone like Reaves in the deal.

But I'm ok with the trade :)

How are you going to be a 2nd apron team and receive a SNT Sharpe?

I don't understand the 2nd apron all that well to comment enough on it, It just says on spotrac that Lakers will be a 2nd apron team (hard capped).

Sharpe is a restricted free agent, so you either going to have to offer him a portion of the full MLE and dare Brooklyn to match or work out a SNT with Brooklyn. Any way you slice it if the Lakers want Sharpe they are going to have to stay below the 1st apron because either action causes a 1st apron hard cap. I think if they lakers are willing to use Knecht here then including Kleber should be fine and gives the LAL plenty of breathing room under the 1st apron.

Yeh 2nd apron is too much to handle for me  if that's the case rather just go for Claxton.

Lakers aren't giving up one of their few remaining assets for a backup C who they're likely going to have to overpay.
