You thought it wouldn't happen again but... (Rockets/Bucks/Lakers)

Lakers out: Luka
Lakers in: Gannis

Rockets out: Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith Jr, Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore, 2027 Suns 1st
Rockets in: Luka

Bucks out: Gannis
Bucks in: Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith Jr, Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore, 2027 Suns 1st

Lakers find a better fit for Lebron in what could be his last year. Rockets consolidate, combine Luka and Sengun. Bucks rebuild with a nice package.

who says no?

The concept makes no sense. Luka has higher value and is younger. Even if Lebron was in his prime you dont do this trade, you keep Luka. Just remove the Lakers and try to make it a Rockets/Bucks trade.

Please, people, get it into your heads:

AMEN THOMPSON WILL NOT BE TRADED. NOT. BE. TRADED

Lakers are not trading Luka for Giannis.. and Giannis is definitely not a better with with 41 year old LeBron who play the same position at this point.

That's beyond terrible for Houston.

The Lakers can pay Luka.
No thanks.

LOL at turning your nose up on Luka Doncic...
As a Luka fan, I'd love for this to happen (keep Jabari and Sheppard in HOU though and too much pieces going out), that's much better situation than LA.

You’re probably right but this gives me strong JJ Hickson vibes for those old enough to remember.

In a deal with Luka Doncic and Giannis, we have a guy yelling us about it being crazy that...checks notes..Amen Thompson could possibly be traded....

That's just reason 3542 why threads like this are pointless. We get one moment of insanity out of Dallas and now we have guys thinking every team will do this and then multiple fans of the team benefiting from fictional insanity act insulted by the very idea....

I mean okay

Was expecting at least one of these.

There are zero non-tradeable players. For the right price everyone can/will be moved.

Luka would force a trade or opt out next year if he landed in Milw. There is not much of path to build around him there. LAL are going to be challenged to build around Luka properly, but they have advantages that Milw don't have.

Doesn’t change that Luka is better than what Houston is offering up(roleplayers, busts, and FRP)

Can Amen make a leap to #1 option?

Houston has become insanely overrated after having a decent season. Does anybody seriously think they’re going to be winning the west with that roster?

I think he could be a #2 for sure as a total package player. Still need a offensive #1. But Houston has time and a lot of assets so they don't have to win immediately or with this exact roster. They have a lot of paths to improve, they are set up quite well for the future.

I don't think they are over-rated at all, people want to disparage them for losing to a 7 seed but GS was not a typical 7 seed in the tight west and I actually picked them to lose that series before it started. I get you are likely tired of them being linked to getting Giannis, but they are as well set up as any team outside of OKC.

They do have plenty of options but I roll my eyes at any rocket fan claiming so & so is untouchable and that they don’t want to “shorten their window”

The west was very bunched this season, it was a 4 game difference between #2 and #8. I just think Houston has less top end talent than the other contending teams and just assuming internal progression from this core will mean they will improve on that result might leave some people disappointed. Like it’s a team pretty dependent on Fred Van Vleet, a one way old school 5 that doesn’t rim protect or stretch the floor, low iq chucker in Green, Amen also not being a shooter, I think there is a decent chance the team regresses a bit next season unless one of their players takes a big leap.

I agree that more than likely the will have to swing a big trade of some sort to be a real contender. Just because they are set up well doesn't mean they are GTD to ever break though as a real contender. But teams have been able to keep their best player and swing big trades plenty of times in the past, I think the Rockets can keep Amen and still find the right trade for them sometime in the next two seasons.

Some Milwaukee fans have made it clear that no reasonable deal is acceptable so going to ignore those.
Luka would fit well and might like going back to Texas. Might have fell in love with la though.
My try.
La gets Giannis and Whitmore. Giannis/Lebron is scarier than Luka/lebron.
Houston gets Luka and Portis.
Orl gets Vleet
Mil gets kleber, Sheppard, Jabari (or Eason), Orl filler, 10, 16, 2027 best two of hou/bkn/phx, 2029 best two of hou/phx/dal. Maybe 2031 LAL or hou firsts.
Houston: Luka Brooks Amen JGreen Sengun Eason (or Jabari). Strong top six and brings back Adams with Portis for interior depth.

Those are high value firsts and that makes a big difference. Worth more than playoff teams firsts.

Does anyone see the Lakers winning the west with that roster?

Does anyone see the Bucks winning the east with that roster?

Luka and Giannis must be incredibly overrated.

lol how is a couple mediocre picks and maybe 1 decent a reasonable offer for a top 15 player all time? It’s not even close dude, you’re not getting Giannis for your teams scraps.
