Kings trade:
DeMar DeRozan

Kings get:
Collin Sexton
Haywood Highsmith

Jazz trade:
Collin Sexton

Jazz get:
Jaime Jaquez
Kyle Anderson
Kevin Love
Pelle Larsson

Heat trade:
Jaime Jaquez
Kyle Anderson
Kevin Love
Haywood Highsmith
Pelle Larsson

Heat get:
DeMar DeRozan

Why- Kings get a solid PG in Sexton, Jazz get a prospect in Jaquez and expirings, Heat get a scorer to help Herro/Bam.

You forgot Highsmith on the Heat trade section.

Too good for Sacramento.

Kings don't need sexton, not a true point guard. Another monk, we have enough of those score 1st guards.

If Miami does have interest in demar, path is rozier + JJJ. Simple clean and easy for both teams.

Agreed. OP isn't something I'd consider. Not overly into the idea of DeRozan but that's the offer if we're interested.

Pretty terrible for Miami. Sacramento is stealing value here

I know the plan was long discussed as 2026 cap space, but I wonder if adding Wiggins was realizing that 2027 is actually a better plan. Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Mitchell, AD, Kat. That off-season is pretty crazy, and if you wanted to add two of those guys you'd probably need Herro off the books as well. You could give Davion a 2 year deal this off-season

This gives Miami -
Herro - Demar - Wiggins - Ware - Bam
Davion - Robinson - Highsmith - Jovic - Anderson

By 2027 it's literally just Bam-Ware + whatever rookies you add and an enormous amount of cap space.

For Sac, getting JJJ is the "prize". Rozier is just expiring filler.

Robinson is as good as gone. We can cut him and save $10 million. It's time to let Larsson play regularly.

The Kings send Rozier + 2/3 SRP for Jrue Holiday? They're left with a pretty balanced team, especially if they can land a defensive big.

Would the Kings need to add? I'd think Boston should add to that deal. They shave almost 80 million off that deal over the next 3 years, Rozier also has some ties to Boston, so he could resign for a much much smaller deal as a bench player 6th man in Boston.

Sexton / Herro / Wiggins looks better to me than Herro / DDR / Wiggins. I think MIA cuts SAC out of this and just takes Sexton.

The Jazz are basically getting nothing of value here.Jaime Jaquez maybe is worth a few 2nd round picks, but everyone else they're getting is strictly salary filler. Colin Sexton is for sure worth more than this. I also don't see a reason why the Heat would do this either. They would still be a play -in team with a aging Demar Derozan and are simply giving up too for a guy who doesn't impact winning.

The problem for BOS is that they need immediate savings more so than they need long term savings. They're already in great position to duck the tax in 26-27 and/or 27-28 with Jrue on the books. It's this year they need more savings.

Like for instance, in a vacuum, Rozier for $26.6M over one year is better than Klay Thompson at $35M for 2 years. But Klay makes $16.7M in 25-26 compared to $26.6M for Rozier and that extra savings in 25-26 is waaaaaaaay more needed for BOS than the future year savings. So even though in a vacuum Rozier would be preferrable, once you line it up on the cap sheets for BOS they're better off with those million Dallas proposals we see where they take back Klay and reroute the other Dallas salary elsewhere.

Huh? The Jazz are giving up probably the most valuable piece in the whole deal with Sexton.

This is a fair take. And I think in reality the Kings would pay here because they are a dumb organization. But continuing to get older with the ceiling being fighting for the play-in is not a route I'd choose to go. Especially not paying assets to do so.

I think that’s arguable, especially since Miamis go to guy is Herro. But again DDRs biggest skills getting buckets and getting to the line is overlooked. He doesn’t space, doesn’t defend, etc.

Why would the Heat want Demar?

Because he’s a bucket. Hes at over 20ppg for 12+ seasons with no signs of slowing down coming off a 22/4/4 season. I’m sure Herro would appreciate a player taking some defensive attention off him, and they’re not giving up a ton to get him.

He's a very overrated player. No team with playoff aspirations should want him. He's made the playoffs once in the last 6 years, despite the teams he was on all trying to be competitive, and that's not a coincidence.

Is he overrated? Pull up a thread on DeRozan and after a few minutes you will question if he should be in the NBA. And cherry picking the last 6 seasons and ignoring the previous 6 seems disingenuous. No NBA defense has figured out how to stop him, that’s not a coincidence. He’s a cone defensively, but a beast on offense.

Current Demar has more in common with 20-25 Demar than 14-19 Demar. The league has also changed a fair bit since 2014, to Demar's disadvantage.
