Giannis to ATL

Post#1 » by Michaellam1987 » Fri May 30, 2025 3:52 am

Johnson (5yr 150M), Risacher (3yr 44M), Daniels (1yr 8M), 2025 #13, top 4 protected future first for Giannis

Why for ATL:
Elite duo for Young and Giannis. Find a capable SG/SF through free agent or draft to form the starting 5

Why for MIL:
Retool instead of rebuild as many of their future firsts are on other team’s hand. 3 young talented starters and 2 firsts should be a great start for the new chapter for MIL post-Giannis.

It doesn't make sense for Atlanta to trade 3 young, talented starters along with multiple picks for just Giannis. Having to find two starters in free agency isn't a recipe to be better than the current team.

Giannis isn't likely to have any interest in going to Atlanta.

If he wants to go to a competitive team, and stays in the East. ATL is 1 of the more logical partner. Besides Giannis's interest, the interest of MIL also need to be considered.

Mann will take up 1 of the starter's role, just like what he has been doing in LAC.

That is too much to give up for Giannis, especially those distant unprotected first. And no one to play C for ATL after trading away Okongwu.

I doubt either is too interested.

I know Giannis is great, but trades like this are just completely realistic. Giving up more than half your lineup and a ton of picks for a single player is just not common sense. ATL would be left with nothing.

No offense but if Milwaukee offered this to Atlanta, they would accept this quicker than Lou Williams leaving the bubble.

This won't be a competitive team.
