If the Bucks choose to Trade Giannis

If the Bucks choose to trade Giannis, based on recent high profile trades, which trade equivalent is more likely and what's the comparison
Nets-Kevin Durant trade to the Suns: Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first-round picks
Thunder - Paul George to Clippers - SGA, Danilo Gallinari, four future 1st and two pick swaps
Jazz - Gobert to Wolves - Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, the draft rights to Walker Kessler, and four first-round picks (2023, 2025, 2027, and a top-five protected 2029 pick). The trade also included a first-round pick swap in 2026.

The Paul George trade included Kawhi Leonard in its evaluation.
The biggest thing with all these deals sans Kawhi+PG13 trade is that none include a hallmark, a Top 5 blue-chip asset coming back. Bucks fans, well, at least Monster Energy guy, is adamant the Bucks will only trade Giannis if a Top 5 blue-chip asset is coming back. When we utilize history as a tool, that is highly unlikely, though, like much of human history, we fail to accurately listen and learn from history and instead blindly move forward, neglecting a powerful tool.
The Nets trade is a good baseline. 2 Starters and 4 1sts.

I'd say the Nets trade is the best comparison. Giannis is a bit younger than KD was when the trade was made, but I suspect Giannis won't have the same longevity as Durant because his game relies more on athleticism, so in terms of "remaining peak years", I'd say the analogy holds.
The Thunder trade was an aberration because the Clippers viewed the trade as getting both Paul George AND Kawhi Leonard as a return since Kawhi would only sign in LA if George was acquired. I would not use the Thunder trade as a comparison
The Jazz/Gobert trade is a bad comparison because Giannis is much better than Gobert is.

You wouldn't say that SGA was top trade chip when he was traded? I think Clippers fans thought the same thing as Rocket fans do with Thompson, but i could be wrong.

Davis to Lakers trade package: Lonzo, Ingram, Hart, #4, 2 future FRPs, a future FRP swap option

He finished 6th in ROY voting, was the 11th pick in the draft the year prior and put up 11/3/3 as a rookie. The thing is, like Amen, he took a massive jump in year 2. But he was traded before the jump, just as most people weren't as high as Amen after his rookie year as they were after his huge jump in year 2.
Like I said, no need to re-write history

I think that might be the best comp, who has that to offer?

yeah if the Clippers knew SGA was SGA, they would have told Kawhi, we don't need PG, we have a better player right here and we will use the rest of those assets to go get your 2nd choice.

Ingram and Ball were both Top 2 picks and on their rookie contracts. Let's use this as a barometer (Top 4-5 picks, High lottery pick, 2 future FRP and a future swap).
San Antonio has the closely aligned assets.
Castle, #2 = Lonzo, Ingram, #4
Sheppard, Smith Jr, #10 + Future 1st = Lonzo, Ingram, #4
Sharpe, Scoot, #11 + Future 1st = Lonzo, Ingram, #4

Claxton, #8, 5 FRPs
But yeah Spurs do seem to be very well placed here.

The only player with the kind of leverage that Leonard and LBJ had when they orchestrated the AD and PG trades is Luka and the Lakers don't have the ability to make that kind of offer.

I do think AD is the best comparison due to AD being younger / Giannis being better. The KD trade is good as it shows an everything type package that a team that isn’t in a big asset surplus could offer..
I think SAS should be the top bidder though. They can have a fun window with Castle/Wemby rookie contracts offsetting Giannis/Fox max contracts..
id rather trade Flagg for Giannis than do minor moves around the current Dallas roster. Pick a real direction either way..

Would be a mistake for POR to make a play for GA. Too far from contention, even if MIL would accept the deal (which they would not and should not).

Id call the Spurs first thing and decide what do I want
2# + 14# + Castle + Vassel + Sochan + 3 firsts?
Harper
Castle
Vassel
Kuzma
Derik Queen if he drops to 14#
plus the picks, seems fair enough of a start of a rebuild, bit money tied to Lillard and Kuzma only, Vassel being adequate pay...

Teams with extra picks have some leverage. OKC has a few extra but they are not projected as high value firsts. Might get lucky but odds are mid tier nonlottery. For instance, Bkn would happily trade 19,26, 27 and more to get 10 right now.

Simons/Deni/Grant/Clingan/Giannis/Coumari is a clear title contender

Dallas is like the 1 team that just cannot trade Flagg though. Even for Giannis. They just can't. After the Luka thing, they were given a way out to a future and to send it away for even MORE frontcourt help is wild. That team needs help with their guards.
If anything, Dallas needs to pivot and trade AD now. Build around Flagg.

No it really is not. If GA wants out he needs to go to a team that is already close with great trade assets OKC, HOU, some place like that.

YEah I'm confused. We are told how good Deni/Camara are all the time. And I agree mostly. These are very good role players in need of a star. Well now you would have said star. Plus a perimeter scorer whose life is so much easier now playing off Giannis. Plus a young quality center. Probably would like to turn Grant into an overpaid guard if possible, but I mean if I have Giannis/Deni/Camara/Simons I feel like I can figure some other things out.
Portland was competitive with no offensive engine. Keep the most important players and add an MVP?
But if adding Giannis isn't enough, nobody should be turning down every Deni/Camara trade. Because they are going to be way less valuable when they combine to make $70M and it appears there is no path to Portland being good enough before that if adding Giannis doesn't get you there. Because Jokic or SGA ain't coming....

Yes. Please. Definitely.
But like I said, I’d rather trade for Giannis (or KD but obviously not for Flagg) than just work around the edges here (meaning bring in a Sexton, Monk, etc)
As for the Luka trade? I don’t look back like that. It’s done. Nico isn’t fired. Unfortunate.
AD, Lively, Giannis, Martin, Naji, Christie, Kyrie.. hopefully turn some/all of Martin/Hardy/Powell/2nds/swap into a useful guard or just dump them so you can use the tax MLE..
That team can beat anyone in a playoff series. “If healthy”… and that’s better than middle roading a retool to me.
