Heat/Bulls

Post#1 » by Texas Chuck » Fri May 30, 2025 9:06 pm

Robinson (only his $10M gtd, Bulls waive him)
Rozier
#20

for

Ayo
Lonzo
Smith

Heat get a big to play with either Bam or Ware, if healthy a great partner with Herro in Lonzo, and a quality 3rd guard in Ayo. Since the plan is to waive Robinson and just pay off his gtd money, here they get the Bulls to do that for them saving them the full $19+M, and with filling two additional roster spots really helping their flexibility with tax/apron lines.

Chicago picks up a first for some role players and gains more cap space for next summer when they should have a lot.

The Bulls give MIA 3 genuine role players and get back a guy to cut and Rozier who proved not to be a role player for MIA why would he be one for a year with the Bulls? If the Bulls get Rozier will he play and push #12 and #20 deeper on the bench. I'd rather cut Terry and find a way to resign Jones is looks like much more of a team guy than Rozier. If the Bulls are trading for another pick next year is the time not now when they have a crowded roster

Great for the Heat and not much for the Bulls for 2-3 years when those kids develop.

Hard to part with the pick but I do not hate it. Makes sense at least for us (and how our FO thinks, even though i think they should tank this next season. But they wont) in shoring up the PG spot which we were sorely lacking minus Mitchell.

But I admit it's a sweet deal for us in the form of position of need while keeping cognisent of our cap.

Heats only do this if they are giving up on 2026 FA dreams and strike out on a star trade. Not a bad fall back for them if they want to make the playoffs. I think this actually would make sense if they kept butler but i no longer trust them to get very far in playoffs

I like it for the bulls.

Not enough 26 money here to prevent them from taking that tack still if they want to. Less than $10M and it would be very movable. I definitely was keeping that potential objection in mind. :D

I think this is too good for the Heat.
They get solid players and get to dump salary, all that for #20?

Would love a deal like this instead of KD.

I don't like it, the first is nice but not interesting enough to give up Ayo, Ball and Smith.

Agreed. I love it for Miami but I don't see it for Chicago. Would be thrilled to get Ball and Ayo but the Bulls shouldn't touch this.

Thanks guys. Any thoughts on how to get Chicago more value that Miami can live with?

I'm guessing they would ask for, and be rebuffed on, Ware. Miami would offer Jacquez, they'd ask for Jovic and Jacquez, and Miami would have to decide if they're willing. This would be in addition to that first round pick. If I'm Miami, I do it. No idea if Chicago actually would though.
