Conditions.

Has to be financially feasible

Sac is not attaching picks, Murray or Ellis.

Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

The Magic could use him. Don’t know what that package should look like though. I imagine KCP would have to be involved to make it work financially.

KCP + Cole Anthony + Goga + Gary Harris for LaVine works financially, but I don’t see how that really achieves anything for Sacto other than breaking LaVine into smaller chunks

Would Orlando be willing to include Isaac?

Matthew Broderick movie from late 80's/early 90's. Famous scene where his teacher is calling roll and repeating his name. Us old guys get the reference immediately...

I don't think there is really much of a market for him. Find a desperate team with some unwanted money to move and maybe?

i dont hate a green/landale/whitmore and maybe more minor value trade for lavine. houston might as well consolidate some of their players

Actually he was looking for an answer to a rhetorical question and getting crickets like your answer pre-supposed I would get.

I like this for both if Houston misses out on the better targets.

Lavine has negative trade value on his salary, so if you're not attaching assets to move him all you can do is get back another bad contract. It's unlikely that contract is a better player, because if he is why is the other team moving him?

I don’t necessarily disagree. But I wanted to validate the hypothesis here. Some on other Kings sites would argue differently.

Given LaVine was the main return in the Fox trade and at least on this board he has negative value just highlights what a mess the Kings organization remains. Vivek is stupid and interferes frequently. That combination is deadly and he may be the worst owner in sports.

I think Dallas could make an offer if they are sticking with this plan.

No idea what the value looks like but PJ, Gafford, Klay, Martin for LaVine should free up enough room to backfill the roster under second apron. And leaves Hardy/Powell/2nds to go find a rotation bench big.

Now if Sac or Dallas is supposed to add, my bias says PJ is worth more than LaVine and the rest of the package is neutral-ish... So Sac needs to add.

LaVine is a very expensive, yet not impactful player, all the while teasing you with gaudy efficiency, which tempts teams into believing they can change him into something useful.

Every team he has gone too has gotten worse, every team he leaves gets better. At his age, he has little hope of organic improvement. What you have got there is a pricey boat anchor.

Teams that will play the Lavine card are in the stage of final death throes in thier competitive window, with an empty hand, and no cards left to play.

So your options might be Lillard or Beal. If you expectation is for any level of asset to come back, i would temper it.

For Orlando? He might be. He’s exactly what they need. If the trade is adjusted to include Jett Howard instead of Harris and decline the Harris and Wagner options (as Chuck mentioned) Magic could pretty easily avoid the 2nd apron this season anyway. 26/27 it will be harder but they will have a year to see how effective Lavin/Suggs/Franz/Pablo/WCJ can be and make adjustments accordingly.

This won't happen, but I do think Lavine fits this new iteration of the Raptors team better than RJ Barrett. Not sure how that happen salary wise though
