Bulls-Jazz

Post#1 » by pipfan » Sat May 31, 2025 5:09 am

I want the Bulls to consider Lauri for #12/Port pick/PWill/Vuc. I know Bulls' fans don't like it, but we'd be fun to watch.

BUT, if not, could these two still be trade partners?

Collins/#21/#43 for PWill/JCarter/#12/#45 and the 2030 Clipper 2nd

Utah moves up to #12, maybe takes Egor D? They try to save PWill's career (JCarter expries)

Bulls move back but save A TON of future $. At #21 we take Fleming or Beringer (maybe Wolf/Sorber)
Bulls still do my much posted Port pick for Dieng/#24 (OKC saves $/roster spots and adds a future pick)

Bulls end up with
White/Ayo
Giddey/Ball
Matas/Huerter
JCollins/Dieng
Vuc (still try to dump him)/ZCollins/JSmith
deep bench of #21 (big), #24 (best combo guard available, let's say Saraf), Terry, Phillips

Next summer we'd have only Giddey, Matas, JSmith, #21, #24 on the books. White's cap hold would be around $20 million (or trade him at deadline). We could easily have $100 million in cap space to play with, plus Ayo/Dieng/Ball options and our 2026 pick.

Wiht growth and adding Collins, that team could make the playoffs

Utah isn’t going to make that Lauri trade.

Bulls fans don't like it because it's horrible.

Draft and develop what we've got, don't waste space and picks on Lauri to be "fun".

I agree, that's the best path-I'm the one posting a bunch of Coby trades
But, if we're going to be decent, why not be good? Lauri is only 28 and is a great fit with White/Giddey/Matas. Plus, we'd never have to watch PWill again (that's worth something in itself)

But this other trade is to dump Carter/PWill and get better. It opens about $20 million in 2026 cap space, and makes us a better team now

We won't be good though, there's zero defense outside of Matas and despite how many times you say it Vuc not being there doesn't change that.

Also wasting a lottery pick to dump Williams is ridiculous, we're not that desperate and his deal while bad isn't bad enough to warrant doing that.

Lauri is overpaid, mediocre and injury prone.

Well, Ainge isn't anyway. A more rational GM might.
