Philladelphia & Portland
Philadelphia Out/Portland In: #3, Kelly Oubre Jr, Eric Gordon, Ricky Council IV*
Portland Out/Philadelphia In: Deni Avdija
*Any Filler from Philadelphia with Portland maintaining the ability to waive on arrival
Philadelphia adds a player on the Maxey Timeline, good enough to win-now while in the first third of their careers.
Portland sells high on Deni Avdija, whom they acquired for the #14 pick and a 2029 1st with controlled variance just 11 months ago.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
Deni by himself is not worth trading worth trading out of the 1st round in a strong class. Maybe if the Blazers is willing to add the 11th pick or willing to attach a future asset, then sure.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
If Philly believes in Embiid, I think a deal with this as the basis makes a ton of sense for both. Just not sure if Philly will feel that way by the draft?
But love the thinking here.

I think it’s the overpay Portland wants. And that’s an amazing fitting “if healthy” line up for Philly. Without their picks two of next three years, it makes sense.

If Portland gets to work out the high prospects and likes one enough. Otherwise, I could see them being hesitant after Scoot but being as advertised.

Not interested in adding Deni to 11 for 3 in a 2 player draft.
Pass for POR.

IF its a 2 player draft, pick 11 holds minimal value and wouldn't be a hold up. Sounds like you believe the draft to be at least 11 deep.

Philly can also use the salary slot of #3 as matching to keep some vets around if they plan to compete. As it is i think OP pushes Portland into the tax

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
I just don't see how the Sixers can make a win now trade, but that's nothing against Avdija. He's a very good player and a better asset.
There is no Maxey timeline. You don't trade 3OA to build around a secondary star. They have one main guy and his knees are likely done. All of the messaging coming out of the trusted local reporters is that they want to make a pick high up in the lottery and trading out is a deep longshot.

If Philadelphia can keep Oubre they would elect to do so.

There’s talent in every draft. Probable star level talent not so much. Harper looks like a potential star to me.
I would do an 11 and Deni swap for 2, but doubt SA would go for it.
Adding Scoot to move up to 3? Sure, but PHI wouldn’t go for that and they shouldn’t.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
Deni is a better fit in Portland than VJ., and I'm not sold on VJs potential.
Just no to Ace on the Blazers. Not a team player.
Throw in three players that do not fit the Blazers timeline.
This trade is any easy no for Portland. We will gladly keep Deni. Deni has more value to Portland than #3.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
I'm a Blazer fan who like Avdija a lot. But generically, I'm not sure he has the value of a 3rd pick; maybe in a lot of drafts; maybe not in some others. Not sure about this draft
my problem is I'm not good at forecasting how a college player will perform in the NBA. The last guy I got right was Brandon Roy and that's only because I didn't talk to his orthopedic surgeon
if the Blazers really like a player at 3 they might be tempted; but I know they really like Avdija and paid two 1st's for him

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
So I don't particularly love anyone at #3, and like Deni quite a bit... But #3 for Deni still just feels wild to me.

You're down on Scoot? That's the POR guard I'd REALLY like in ORL.

That's the issue and why flatout trading out of the 1st round for Deni or any win now asset is something I simply can't get behind. Joel Emiid health is very questionable at best and there's no telling if he's ever going to healthy again. If it was full guaranteed that Joel Emiid would be able to stay healthy enough to play atleast 55-60 games per season, while still being able to play atleast at a all star level going forward, then maybe trading out of the 1st round for Deni Avdija or another win now now without other incentives attached wouldn't feel as crazy, but that's not the reality the 76ers are living in.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
I’d reluctantly deal Deni for 3 for Portland. I’d add minor assets (2nd rounders, thybulle, etc), but not 11 or a future first.
If Portland and Orlando were able to get together on a Simons trade, maybe an asset from that (like the 25th pick) could go to Philly?

The caveat here is regardless of Embiid's, a Deni/Maxey/McCain is more intriguing to me than Maxey/McCain/#3 Pick, both in 2026 and over the duration of Deni's contract. Philadelphia retains flexibility and control over its future, even with the picks owed.

Thybulle isn't an asset.

Re: Philladelphia & Portland
Portland would be targeting VJ at 3 instead of Ace.
One of the Portland guards would need to be sent out if VJ is the player they are targeting
